It is a member only feature and you have to press at minimum 1 button each turn. Personally I have played a bit with it in some high income local deployment ME CW games but I'm not sure if it was worth it, since I then had to adapt the orders manually.

Is there anywhere a noob-friendly instruction on how to run the bot myself?

I have tried multiple times to get into WZ bots, but always hit a wall very soon, because I know some programming languages, but dont know C# and failed to find any language-agnostic manuals on the bot stuff.

PS. Would love, if there was just an open API (or some middleware) for bot stuff.

How you continue from there would then be up to you. I recommend starting by creating a completely new bot which just deploys all it's armies to a single territory and then does a single random move with it's full armies from that territory. Once this is completed, you are ready to add some real logic.
