I instinctively thought this was an M'Hunters joke.

What is the damage formula? Can I go on a mission with a friend? What is the benefit of blocking? Do I get a palico? Have you heard about the diplo discord?

1) Damage formula. If I attack a monster, how much damage do I do? Since if it is attack-def, then no monster can touch me.

1) If Soldier - max of 10 dmg
If Spellcaster - max of 12 dmg
2.5) Simply to take less dmg (was my thought process)

It's like Armor Class from Dnd. If the monsters don't get above the Def number, they can't hit.

So nobody can damage tier 2 and tier 3 monsters with starting stats. Correct?

False. I will roll a d20 for everyone's attacks.
The monsters will get disadvantage if you block. If your Attack roll gets above a Tier 2 or 3's Def, you will do a d10 or d12 of dmg to them.

So def 10 means 50% probability to negate damage?

I guess. If I roll anything lower than or equal to a 10 on a d20, yes, damage would be negated

Spellcaster: 15 HP, 50% chance to block = resists ~30 damage
Soldier: 20 HP, 75% chance to block = resists ~80 damage

We could change some numbers. This is the first rendition after all

A good way how to not make ridiculously unbalanced games is to try to play the game yourself. Assume you are the player: which actions will you take? Is there an action that you would never use? Why? Is the best choice obvious?

Fair - I think im going to hold off on this game just so I can redo some stuff 👍
