Any mod that turns a territory neutral causes you to lose control of the tank/commander/whatever unit is there.

This can crash games.

In the case of the tank mod, you lose control of the tank when the territory turns neutral, but technically the tank is still shown as belong to you.

See here: https://www.loom.com/share/e499c760d0624c1a83a4229c62eb9d69

In this case, I am using the meteor mod.

Cheers

It’s the meteor mod that causes the bug, it turns player controlled territories that have a special unit without removing the special unit first.

I'm currently developing a system to remove armies / special units from a territory in the right way (just like you attack a territory). UFO76 already said he would update the mod once I've send him the update with this system

Does this mean that the tank/boss/priest/special unit will be fully removed after a meteor strike when it turns neutral?

Also I have played in multi-day games where this also happened that the boss/tank remained available as neutral. Since a tank is 10 armies you need 16 armies or more to conquer the neutral again. With a neutral boss you need a lot more to reconquer it. You already have the 'pain' of losing your boss to a meteor stike, but then it also remains in the way as a large stack neutral territory.

@tv yes this will be fixed

However rn if you lose a tank or such yourself you should still own it and not need to compensate to kill it as well. Just take the territory as if your special unit is not there and you should regain control

sorry guys, I have to add a small delay. I hit an unexpected bug, not necessarily something to stop myself from updating UFO's mod, but enough to make sure I want to test it out more before updating and releasing the system I'm building

btw, I don't think it will crash your game. the mods you're using are quite stable, the only thing is that the Meteor Strike mod leaves special units on neutral territories

@alpha the fix has been coded in now so special units should now die :)

Any special units that were hit before the update should not be affected unfortunately

Thanks to dutchman :)

Will this still work if there's 2 mods that kill the neutral?

What if there is a mod like, mighty commanders? Or the flag mod?

Will it eliminate the player if their special units are killed?

with this latest update, we can "delete" special units, not "kill" them. so technically, if a mod kills all armies on a territory (including the special units) it can delete a commander but not "kill" it.

mods will only eliminate players if a certain condition(s) is/are met. for example, the CTF mod will eliminate you if you lose a certain amount of flags. so the CTF mod does eliminate players based on losing their special units, but it's (as far as I know) the only of its kind.
