At a mult-day game we discovered a bug with 'villages' mod together with 'expansion+' mod.

The expansion+ mod gives you 1 more territory at the end of a turn that is bordering your current territories. However, when you encountered a village at your border you want to capture it the next turn so that you also get all the surrounding terrritories as well. But with expansion+ mod this gets buggy. When you are bordering with a neutral village and the expansion+ mod gives you that territory at the end of a turn it wont function as a village. You get the territory of the village, but not the surrounding territories. Frustrating, because you could have captured that village the next turn to actually get all the surrounding territories as well (including the removal of enemies on those surrounding territories).

Yes, expansion+ will not activate the village (or army caches, or cards caches for that matter) you need to take that territory with armies the usual way before expansion+ takes it for the village to work, same for army/cards caches, although you can move in a territory with a cache and take it even after it has been taken by expansion +.

To answer your question @tv:
I know of this bug and it pains me to no end, however I am unable to fix it, i could have implemented it so that the village claim happens everytime you move a troop onto the territory however this get messy really quickly, so the current bug is a sacrifice that was needed to be made.

However I've implemented both the village mod and expansion+ mod into the CivLight modpack and it works there due to it being possible to communicate between these mods internally

For army caches and card caches the ability to move onto them is there as I've configured it so the structure is removed after you claim it (unlike Villages where it is there for the whole game),

In CivLight I've made it so that expansion+ does not automatically claim these caches so you can hoard them if you want to

Currently working on CivLightV2 content and need to write a plan as my head is too small so I'm going to document it here:
Bold means it's already implemented

Startgame

  • Distribute Villages


ClientRefresh

  • need version 5.20 to open

  • if player holds a village, get a popup to transform said village into another structure (market). Get amount of villages to transform from Mod.Data


AdvanceTurn

End

  • Transform villages to structures chosen from player choice (transformation code done, not implemented player choice yet

  • count number of villages

  • Distribute special units that correspond with structure (capitalist for market)

To the people reporting errors in meteor strike

you are wrong, my mods are PERFECT

(If I can't find and fix the bug by tonight, I will unpublic the mod till it is done)

Edit:
As of now it's actually quite harder than normal to pinpoint when it's going wrong as the errors seem to come at random, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not, never experience anything like it. It's almost as if it has gone sentient.

bug cropped up for me trying to deactivate meteor strike (fixed)

TLA now wants to deactivate me
