Saw a Sudoku map, but it didn't follow Sudoku rules, so I made one.

Tried playing against the AI, now I have a headache :P

Wouldn't want to play against this guy

I don't think they'll let this go public.

Woah, nice twist on the game, I can see myself playing this. Couldn't find any missing connections either. Maybe make the space between the big squares a bit wider, on some zoom levels it's not very clear at the moment.

how are you going to make it obvious what territories connect to where?

*edit also, territories that touch (even if theres a little space between them) must connect.

@Bane: The only way would be just some instructions on the side of the screen. Can't draw connections, you have to think about what connects, and what connects to those... it's quite intense.

@myhandsonfire: Yeah, that's how I feel about it after trying it :P

@CaptainWeasel: Thanks, I'll incorporate that. Dunno if it will count as a valid map, but we'll see I guess.

Visible connections are not required

yes they are. the player must be able to tell where territories connect by looking at the map.

There are plenty of maps with instructions and not visible connections. I think you're still butthurt about Fizzer picking on Cage v. Snoop dogg

picking on cage vs snoop? huh?

and yes instructions can work, i have a map that just says where some connect, and he might get away with doing just that.

also when theres only one person deciding whether or not a map is published some parts get missed by accident.

im only trying to warn him because ive had maps rejected for those two reasons, and would hate to see someone go through alot of work and have to fix alot or scrap it all.

Regardless, the biggest problem with the concept is balance. When you have connections in the same row/column *and* same square of 9, those numbers are choke-points. Trying to figure out where all the choke-points are, how they connect to each other, and so on... I don't know how to balance it.

There aren't many maps whose designs blow me away, but this is one of them - it's brilliant.

Game-play could be fun as well if not a head-scratcher, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be accepted and published. I look forward to your future maps Little Blue.

The rule to know which territories touch or not is simple, you don't need to be a mathematician, so I don't see the problem, connections are clear.
