in this game I had no chance to win since I got trapped by army cap, so I waited for someone to surrender first before I do. and one player did surrender and when I saw that I surrender too and now I see I lost that game. I wasn't last so why is that?

WarLight doesn't award 2nd, 3rd, or 4th places. You can only win or lose. The order it prints your names on the ladder pages is arbitrary.
