I would say the one on the right,because it looks sleeker and gives a more "modern" feel.

Left one looks dated, like some internal corporate accounting app :P The one on the right shows more detail (better contrast between countries and cities) and... it glows! Things that glow are always better, right?

The one on the right for me does a much better job of catching the eye.

I like the styke of the right one more, except for the fading of the waters, mainly because it looks more like a line instead of fading(it s an icon, everything is smaller on it)
I prefer a map of the whole world though.(it also gives a more "open" character, for example, if the map was of japan and the area around it, i would expect the game to be about WW2 in the pacific ocean, instead of being about war in general.
I don't know of any north-south american wars(drugs?) as example though :P )

Dislike both. Left one, Americans arent the only one playing this game.

An icon I would like to see is a globe with red (attack) lines coming out and going between nations. Under that, "Warlight" could be written.

I prefer the right one's style, but I dont like how it doesn't show the whole world.

I like the right's design more. But since it doesn't show the full world, I'll go with left.

The background gradient, selection of colours and embossing on the right don't look too professional. The left one is much more sleek. The left one might be improved by reducing the border slightly, zooming in on the world slightly, and possibly lightening the blue in the background very slightly.

Right, I like the blue, plus, the red dots where the cities are make it sorta look like an impact of a missile rather than an airplane taking off.

I prefer the one on the right. I just like the coloring better :P

I like left , brings back that game board feeling of risk , as well as stated in previous posts showing what WarLight actually looks like. I don't think the right is right, personally.
