Mindori, You are an advanced player, probably in phase 3 or 4. Scrounging for a common artifact when all, or mostly all, of yours are epic or legendary, is certainly not worth the time. For me, having just recently unlocked phase 2, and struggling to raise my uncommon artifacts to rare, a common one is much more valuable. Spending $1B at the end of an early level (with $5B saved) is better than starting a new level and trying to find $300M while struggling to find money for army camps, mine improvements, and hospital upgrades. Particularly if raising a key uncommon artifact to rare makes getting that next level off the ground so much faster. I'm sure when I get to phase 4 sometime in the next year, or two, I'll feel like waiting to finish all the digs isn't worth it, either. Peace.

I just started Triskelion. I am into tier 3. I have 2 epics and the Legendary TS got it a couple weeks before the nerf. My first epic was time warp as I consider dig times the most important thing. I look at a common as 1/125 of an epic and an uncommon as 1/25 and I need so many more so I get that you want ever dig you can get. So I am not that far ahead of you but I don't remember losing that much time not digging when I was back where you were.

I guess your issue is you race to beat the time requirement to get the bonus right? You don't have much extra time so you aren't digging during your game? At the end, you dig all the sites since you now have the extra resources to dig? For me, I don't have the sites or resources to dig in the first day of a game but I usually can in the second day. I do sometimes have to waste a dig on a 0 percent rare or epic 100 percent poor dig site not entirely true but seems like it. I try to always save one of those long uncommon sites for when I start a new game.

Do you spend as much time digging after you finish as you do doing the level?

I don’t understand how this thread spilled on to a second page lol

All the dig sites are the same (within a very slight margin of error) in terms of expected value. I don’t think it makes sense to stop collecting AP unless you are already above 134k and ready to super ascend.

You should choose dig sites based entirely around when they will finish regardless of how “advanced” of a player you are. You should be optimizing for a completion time that:
(a) is not when you are asleep
(b) is not shortly after level completion

That way you can have a continuous dig going - you won’t waste time when you are asleep or striving to reach the next dig site

True ... but ... I also optimize based on impact of 8 hrs Insane TW with +50% Faster Digs, which makes it wasteful to use on 100% Common which takes on 3h15m, so 4h45m wasted, compared to 7% Rare 10 hrs = 2 hrs after TW, which makes the Rare & Epic digs worth more than previously b/c they can be finished much quicker, and the Common digs less valuable b/c they would waste TW time.

Yeah if you have Legendary or Insane Time Warp then this edge case exists

@graemes

You mentioned

is not shortly after level completion

which probably means being able to capture a dig site and get enough money to start the dig before the dig finishes.

If I understand correctly, what Mark is trying to claim is that with <pronoun>'s currently play, all dig sites finish shortly after level completion in this sense.

The longest possible dig time is 1 day 12 hour. If I understand correctly, Mark is trying to claim that we can capture a dig site and pay for the dig within this time after starting a level because we're in phase 3 or 4 and have powerful artifacts.

Of course you don't have to be in phase 3 or 4 or having powerful artifacts to do that. Shortly after super-ascension, I was back in phase 1 with 0 AP and nothing other than an upgrading time warp (which I can't use for 10 days due to it being upgrading) and a rare alloy value (which is not very useful in early levels without markets). Even in that situation I can still easily capture a dig site and start a dig at most 4 hours after starting a level. But that requires very optimal routing, which requires a high level of familiarity of the maps, knowing exactly where everything is and capture territories in a precise order.

There are people with very different playstyles and strategies from us. Among those players, probably it's quite common to not being able to start a dig within a day after starting a level.

Okay, I finished Copper Creek Castle, synced the game and remained on the map. Then I hit the notification button and returned to the game and I was still on the map. Finally, I shut down the application on my tablet, restarted it and I WAS STILL ON THE MAP, not the selection list page. So, so much for the 100% returning to the list. Anyway I agree that we've beaten this topic to death. I'm done commenting on this.
