I rember it being all the range when it first came out, but now it's like it has dropped off the system. Good suggestions, keep them coming!

Rule:(full list of rules and details will be posted on Saturday)

However, nominations per week have been limited to 6. First 6 nominations will be counted.

@Skunk, making the most maps doesn't give you reputation, just a record ;) Not that it stops you from being a judge, I actually already have a team of judges ready to go. I'm sorry.

How are you going to deal with avoiding bias? Defer voting if one of the judge's maps is in the offing?

If I was a judge, I would always vote against my own maps to avoid bias but that's just as biased as the alternative.

The only truly unbiased thing to do would be to say that any judge with a map in the nominations doesn't get a vote.

That is also a reason why Skunk wouldn't make a prudent choice for judge, as he has so many maps he probably wouldn't get to vote most weeks.

Perhaps: you have a selection of substitute judges (actually including Skunk) you can fill in the gaps in your panel on those occasions.

This week, I can already tell you that Apollo did not vote for his own map.

If there are enough judges anyway, I don't think it's a problem if a judge whose map is nominated, does not vote that week (or just doesn't vote for his or her map), so I'm currently not seeing a problem.

I think of the two options it is important that they do not vote. If Red dead redemption was made by someone else for instance then Apollo may well have voted in its favour, and the outcome could be affected.

Also: Can the maps that have been nominated this week but do not win be re-nominated for the subsequent week? If not, then how long a break is required? If yes then how will you stop the nominations list being filled up with the same maps over and over again?

Sorry for playing devil's advocate, I'm quite sure you're already working through the fine print.

Fair point, it will be discussed. I think that if a mapmakers map is nominated he cant vote. Even though most likely everyone wouldn't vote for their own map anyway...?

Full list of rules will be posted tomorrow with the first weeks result. So you can ask questions after that.

Wonderful, can't wait for the results, wherever possible I'm going to use the map of the week for my teams' games as they come up, so thanks for this!

Agreed! This is a great idea. I've never even seen some of the maps that have been nominated, so it'll be fun to try some of them out.

Map of the week #1:

1.Dead Frontier http://warlight.net/Map?ID=5723 - By Tenemide. With a total of 12 votes. A quote from Math Wolf (a judge):
Great concept, really stands out among other maps. The grid to easily find back the locations of different buildings is a nice find as well. Too bad the AI doesn't pose much of a fight in the scenario.

2.Red Dead Redemption http://warlight.net/Map?ID=13590 - By Apollo. With a total of 11 votes.

3.Estonia and its counties http://warlight.net/Map?ID=15725 - By Aldehyde. With a total of 7 votes.

Joint 3rd. 3 Planets http://warlight.net/Map?ID=4278 -By Ottaman. With a total of 7 votes.

Honourable mentions: Philippines Big and Paris-St.Petersburg

Rules to follow on first page... As of Sunday, you can start nominating.

Read map description because it's made for a very specific scenario!

P.S. If you play with AI, play as Iran because AI is to stupid to play Iran.

I found Skunk and Arun's discussion of reputation more interesting than any of the maps posted.
