In addition to my Auto Advancements thread, I thought I would throw my 2 cents in about Visibility Advancements. They are excellent quality of life upgrades, but rather weak.

Pros
  • Can help you find things easier.
  • Fairly cheap.
  • No need to look up maps or write down locations on repeat plays.


Cons
  • Territories are still treated as fogged.
  • Maps exist that show locations making these upgrades useless.
  • Cannot see what the Recipes are.
  • Some maps have more XXX than the XXX Visibility upgrade allows.
  • Why does Market Visibility go to 50 when no map has more than 7?
  • Where is Hospital/Army Camp Visibility?


Tweaks to make them better
  • Treat applicable territories as unfogged. (This should fix the hidden Recipe issue.)
  • Fix the hidden Recipe issue. (If unfogging doesn't work.)
  • Adjust visibility caps to accurately reflect the most that can be encountered. (Maybe make it % based rather than numerical.)
  • Add Hospital/Army Camp Visibility to Phase 4. Anyone who is that far probably has them either memorized or written down anyway. This would just make people's lives a little bit easier.


A permanent Fog Buster ability like "see XX territories further" similar to Skip Level would be cool as well, but I won't get greedy. Thoughts?

I think army camp visibility should be tier 1 or 2. When you have lots of AP to flex market strategy, the army camps aren’t that important. It’s the early game when you would get value out of it. But in general support any and all of these.

I want dig site visibility!

Nowadays I'm not really trying to complete levels because I already have enough AP for everything. I'm just digging around. Having dig site visibility will help.

Somewhat related, but I'll add buffing the fog buster artifact to the list - I happened to get a Rare one from a dig site, and it only revealed 14 territories!? I would suggest something percentage-based, e.g. rare is 25% of total territories, epic 50%, legendary 100%, etc.

My epic artifact from Battle was a Fog Buster. I used to look at it and think what a waste of cooldown it was for 36 territories. Then it got nerfed for some reason and is now 24 territories. If someone buffs a Fog Buster to insane it should clear the whole map. Legendary should do like half and so on. It could have a niche as an early game artifact that you upgrade it to use less times per level. Something like 1/2^(7-n)% territories revealed where n is its rank with poor requiring 64 uses and each upgrade reduces the uses needed by half until insane is 1 to clear the whole map.

totally agree! fog buster should be % territories of map. insane should be 100%.
