The 1v1 rate should be at least 40 so we get more competitive players. I suggest make say 3 day 12 hour games with 30 minutes boot added on every day so people earn it but as the game wears on and players need more time they have it.

I suggest if we're doing picks make them reasonable and fair and the maps need to be balanced for FFA games. No more than 4 picks. This isn't full distribution and at that points, it's absurd to make so many.

I urge you to make interesting maps. Say you have cities distribution and it's auto distribution on a map that gives 3 picks. You can turn neutrals not in the distribution to 3 so maneuvering the map and the grabbing the bonus becomes a more delicate matter.

If you've played FFA on Italy Big those bonuses are big but if you play on Alderaan with small bonuses, it gives the same feel that you have to work for your bonuses.

300-500 territories is a good number for 5 FFA and 4 picks so as long as you keep to that standard, as we gather players it should be pretty much the same number of players per number of territories. Sometimes it seems 30 players is the max to have meaningful games but other times not so much. WE NEED MORE PLAYERS.

Here is an example of an FFA game I created. https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=26447936 Notice the small settings like opponent card visibility on to help players with intuition instead of relying on the pick sheet as a cheat sheet in determining potential starts of opponents. Auto Dist eliminates the potential for knowing enemy targets. Cards help locate with recon however so they are no longer obsolete and have their usefulness. I suggest not using surveillance cards because of mega bonuses XP
The auto dist helps clue out where players might be and makes better advantage for recon cards.

I understand and do agree with the fact we want competitive players in this league. However, I don't want to exclude players because they don't meet the 1v1 rate. I will think about it, but when applied someone has to check the profile of every new player joining the league, to see if they meet the requirement. I will use the setting in the advertising games tho.

survey cards will be banned from maps with big mega bonuses indeed, they reveal to much.

the boot timer will be something that will likely get changed in the future after we've played some games. The main part of the big boot timer is to make sure players will have enough time to do their turn, but of course if they quit warzone it won't be enough.

You make a really good point about auto distribution, picking is a complete different skill than expanding without any information. Taking bonuses efficient without the knowlegde where an enemy is different than with the knowlegde and I do agree that auto distribution should be possible feature in the templates.

Greetings all, first post in the forum (i think lol), on the discussion of auto and manual distribution, both have there advantages and disadvantages, I like manual distribution, because it really is an art, and skill in picking a strategic location to start from, on the other hand, its also a skill to play any hand being dealt, which has a luck factor in auto distribution, manual distribution also has a luck factor, as easy for players to get clumped up, in un balanced distribution, which i also find fun, just because of the un predictability :)

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

First off, I've 'finished' the rules document. There will be room for improvements (mostly on grammer xD), so feedback is welcome! The document it self isn't completely finished, but the most important rules are in there

second, we now have over 40 participants already and the first season hasn't even started yet! This is more than I hoped for and I'm happy to see many players willing to play FFA games in a no-luck environment. But, speaking of the first season...

The first season of The Dutchman campaign will begin in at most 3 weeks from now! There is still some work to do, and I'll be busy with other things too upcoming weeks. This will of course give time to players who don't know about this league to join, the more players the better

If you have questions or anything else related to The Dutchman campaign please consider joining the discord server. I find it way easier to do this is in discord than here, mostly discussions. But you're still allowed to send me a mail ;)

The league officially started!


We'll be playing on the tempate 'King's Archipelago' made by καλλίστῃ, but it was really close in the template voting. This does mean the tempate will be out of the tempate list for upcoming seasons, but doesn't mean we'll never play on it again.
