It sucks that if you want to have a decent new clan in CW, you basically have to create 2 clans, hence doubling the coin cost.
Fizzer really should drop the clan cost to at least 50%.

There is also a 40 player cap for everyone on CW, so why not just restrict it at the gates of CW only?

Restricting it for clans themselves results in more clans. Which is better for Clan War, as it benefits matchmaking. It also leads to more people buying clans, which benefits Fizzer.

When you signed up your account, you were shown the Warzone rules and asked if you agree with them. You clicked the button to say that you did.

This makes me think your position is that it's OK to use multiple accounts to manipulate games, ladders, etc. If that's the case, you should just quit Warzone and go play a different game.
