no thats why i said it is even worse.

Stalling is not against the rules so "crybabying" about it is even worse.

Complaining that you should be number one and falsely accusing people of stalling is being a crybaby.

Dont you think strange?
The game is going normal (less than 1 day and 12 hours all moves)and near the end game all moves are above 2 days and 20 hours.
if u are doing this to make your opponent do a mistake. I call this stalling the game
if u are doing to not get a lose earlier(ladder). I call this stalling the game

How can theses games be played normal and the pace changed like magic?

Timi stalled before, why wouldnt he be stalling now? It may not be as egregious as marc's "chase me around the board" stalls, but holding off on surrendering or taking turns fast just because it might cause you to lose no1 further down the line is still pathetic and annoying and selfish.

Kantos, you'll grab #1 anyways I'm pretty sure. Once your two losses expire in the next two days, you'll be #1 fairly easily I think.

piggy, is Math Wolf stalling by delaying his turns to 2 days+? Do I stall when I play RT, then get busy and finish the game win or lose by 2 days+? Wait for the results of the game.

Hey Guys, I very like to join to the ladder but do not dare :(

I am afraid, because my game speed is very slow, so you will stigmatize me as a villain, a bitch, the devil, or the worst of them all: a STALLER...

Ok, I stop the sarcasm (and hope that despite my very weak English you can get it :D ).

But seriously, how many topics and posts about the stalling, gaming.
How many wasted time...

If you spent these time/energy to find a solution to these problems, I think already been created a professional competitive system without stalling, gaming.
Even without Fizzer (I mean using simple google docs files, forum topics, etc.), and I am sure if this system would become successful, Fizzer give puplicity and other help for it.

And it would be only 3 steps:
1. Collect all the competitive warlight players, but filter the alts!
Collecting all good players and filtering the alts, this is the very first step.
2. Brainstorming a good system, or simple use an existing, professional one.
The chess (monthly) ELO system based on official (and invite only for the members) tournies would be inoperable, but possibilities are endless, just have to brainstorm them.
3. Manage the system.
Creating tournies, update ELO list, etc.

So somebody, please start to collect the competitive players (I would be the first to join :) ) and let's create that professional competitive system for us!

And simple use the ladder which is its main purpose: continuous opportunity for playing againts similar strenght players.

It's fine, look at Math Wolf. You are only a staller if you are very slow exclusively on games you are losing (while playing quickly on own games).

I'd like to change "losing" to "lost". Taking more time on games where you are in a tough spot is very understandable, you are only stalling if you have lost the game already. (IMO)

I think the only solution is to have your own CLOT that prevents all these abuses. The trouble is CLOT's are not easy to do. The code out of the box is very basic. It allows for mass customization, but you have to spend a lot of time just getting things in there that already exist in the current ladder (the basic CLOT only goes by total wins, for example). So you could spend months just getting it to behave like the ladder does now, before being able to tweak it how you like.

Then of course you have the exposure problem (of getting everyone to use your CLOT).

I think the only solution is to have your own CLOT

I don't agree with that.
On the one hand, the 'only' solution is Fizzer makes this system.
On the other hand, imo, not so important the technical implementation of this (ok, Fizzer's system or even a CLOT would be better than simple google docs files and forum topics, but imo this is not the point)

I think much more important that all the good competitive players be involved and all the alts be fltered!

If we can do these two steps (collecting competitive players and filtering alts), I am sure we can invent, create and manage a professional, usable competitive system. And if it will be successful, I am sure we would get publicity (place on dashboard) and help (eg. for the alt filtering) from Fizzer.

Alt filtering is not so easy. You saw GG Announce's posts before? It appears that all Fizzer sees is IP address. In cases of VPNs, Tor or simple account sitting, these results my be very skewed. One account may be linked to many many others.

No. Could you link that topic?

And yes, alt filtering is a very difficult thing. Even with Fizzer's technical possibilites it is still hard.

And there are two problems with the stricter alt filtering:
1. the alt maniac players will make a greater effort to bypass his alts to these stricter filters (bigger challange)
2. there will be a torture for good new players to evidence they aren't alt (I could tell you about this :|)

But despite these, for a professional competitive system is a must to try to filter the alts.

And I think the community themselves is the best 'tool' for filter the alts!

Unfortunately the posts were deleted by Fizzer. Basically all that was relevant was the fact he can see if account have played on the same internet or computer.
