nich i don't consider that as stalling. maybe the last 2 turns wet a bit long but stalling is more for me.

There are more blatant less recent examples but this was right there waiting.

Taking max time for a couple turns is not stalling for me. That person might be just busy. I consider stalling to be taking max time or close to it for many turns when you already know the game is lost. Clearly marc did that in the 3 above.

Stalling like most things is not a binary yes-no sort of thing. That game that nich posted has some stalling, but of course it is not nearly as bad as one in which a lost game is stalled for weeks. I've definitely played some games where I was behind and took a few turns slowly because I didn't want to admit to myself that the game was over, but I do that as much in tournaments as in the ladder, and obviously stalling in a tournament doesn't help you any.

I have also observed that it's not all that enjoyable to be in that situation, since it increases the amount of time I spend thinking about games in which I'm playing poorly, when it's much more enjoyable to think about games in which I am playing well :P

Wow, why be a dick to me Good Kid? We had this discussion about marc a few weeks ago and I looked at a bunch of his ladder games and did not find ANY stalling. I obviously did not look at this section of games, and clearly he stalled a few games. Do you expect me to review EVERY game of EVERY player in my clan to check for it?

Don't be such a dick. Clearly he stalled a few games and I was wrong. Deal with it. By and large our members do not stall though.

Pointing out the obvious isn't being a dick, he is blunt like that deal with it.

Why couldn't he simply point out the games he posted as say something like "what do you call these?" Then I could have simply said, you are right, I never saw those. Instead he decided to call me both an idiot, and full of shit without even waiting for me to respond to his evidence.

Chris, being a dick is also claiming that your organization would never deign to do something which it in fact has done. Don't speak with such certainty when you clearly don't have it. Never mind the fact that holier-than-thou attitudes are rarely well received.

Fair enough, but I came back and admitted my mistake. And to be fair I did not say WG people have NEVER stalled, just that they don't (which I believed to be true). And as I said when this came up weeks ago (it was a topic about who has made #1 legitimately), I looked at the games when marc got #1 and he did not stall. Obviously he did during another run that I did not look at.

Would you call this stalling already? After breaking Ant I spent 2 days to think about how to lower my army-disadvantage, fishing for mistakes from him. Then I see 13 deploy and ask myself if it was Scand+Reinf or if he took Greenland already. So I decided to try another turn in case it was only the card. Then I see 18. I surrender.
Stalling? I'd say no

Yeah I agree, that game wasn't stalled.

I want kill 13CHRIS37 and Timinator because its my time to shine and they keep stalling to stay first and second

Nasty me, not taking my turns directly when turn advanced.

kantos - i often take that long. regardless of situation - i mostly move on the third day, and depending on real-life activities that day, sometimes just a few minutes before autoboot...

lol @ kantos, that first game you posted there... he didn't stall. Dont blame everyone for stalling because they play slow
