As a PhD of Psycho-Internetic Studies from University of Cacao City, I believe there is a deal of influence the internet has had on the western world.

This can be divided into three parts, from which people online will fall under
I. Extreme
II. Substitue
III. Null

I. Extreme.
This situation is when people upon receiving information online seem express overreactions to things. Say if seeing a video of animal abuse, some will react in overly manners, such as becoming a vegetarian. It is my belief that most, if watching same video on TV would not conclude to this end goal. Many also express anger and worry. And the biggest is a sense of depression. I believe the internet has had at least one extreme emotion at least at one point in a internet users experience.

II. Substitute
This occurs when one creates posts on the internet, and usually identity is hidden. This person might post different things or say different things than what he normally would if it was another person in person who said it. Almost like a different personality. This 'internet personality' rarely comes into mind when person is doing normal life routine. Whether this is a person's true personality or not is not the question. The situation is that this personality is different than that of person in-real-life.

III. Null
A phenomenon in which a person despite having the world at his fingertips becomes bored. This may occur in certain instances throughout a persons internet usage. And I believe this is the most bizarre situation.
