Just spitballing: what would you all think of a hard limit on the number of orders a person could place in a turn - controllable during game creation? I'm not sure if this would be total, or just move/attacks, but the general idea is interesting. You could, for example, know you could get the last move every other turn in rotating turn order mode, if you had enough delay to hit the limit (and assuming no cards were played).

Interesting idea. Definitely wouldnt work in certain types of games, but it would be a cool option to have in strategic 1v1

Make some games with a friend/friends where you decide beforehand the limit of orders and see how it plays out. Then post your results here.

I defeinetely think that's a good idea. To respond to Nightshade, I would say that almost every card has gamemodes where it works and gamemodes where it doesn't. Anyway, look forward to see the results of your experiments, if you do them.

Not how cyclic turn move order works.

You get first order two turns in a row every time except for the person who gets first order the very first turn doesn't the second turn.

No, it is exactly how cyclic order works. With a ten move limit the person who goes first is guaranteed the 20th and final move

This could be interesting. I also wonder what it would be like to take it to the extreme, and set the limit to something really low. Say, 3 attack/transfer orders allowed in strategic 1v1 settings. You'd really have to prioritize what moves are the most important.

No dummy moves would be a big change. Besides dummys most people dont make much more than 3.

i think it would hurt teamgames a lot, where being doubleteamed would make you virtually defenseless. In 1v1 - I think it would be a very interesting idea though..

I think isn't a good idea. It just limit who is better at make more delay moves (ask to the master myhand :P).
Like the LD, is just a feature that limit your control in the game = less skill required.

Meh.

And yes, would be a mess in teamgames. Often, the most important thing is be sure to have last move.

why remove or limit a tactical element?

transfers are a great way to assure last attack, but they do have a cost (i.e., that many fewer in battle).

so IMO, it's a balanced feature already.
