You triple pick alot. Its been successful but I wouldn't always count on it. There are also FTB that have been ignored. You need to counter them or utilize them.
So long as your triple doesn't border the ftb, there's no reason to counter or utilize the ftb. A goof triple will out-expand the first turn bonus. Turn 2 West China, can really only be competed against by a double pick on a 3 and a single pick on another 3.
Pretending to complete a bonus to make your opponent commit, very nice. Dunga once used that against me. Or perhaps you just did it for the card piece.
