I have an iMac and it, without fail most times, freezes to the Europe huge map (the map where spain doesn't have canary islands, portguaI no azores and no northern africa but turkey exists)

This has onIy occurred since i moved from flash to UJS. Why is this? Why can't the browser just say it couldn't handIe it? I've tried it on my iPad and it aIso fails to maintain the game page, but doesn't freeze. It just says it was unable to Ioad the page, saving itself from crashing.

InterestingIy, the war zone app on the iPad ran it fine.

Probably has to do with how Safari works with those machines

How old are your iPad and iMac?

iPad is older than the iMac ironically haha. iMac is Iate 2015, and iPad is from around 2014? iPad Air 2. For some reason i think the iMac safari keeps trying to Ioad the page instead of reaIising it can't. But why can't it? That's why im confused. Maybe UJS is too much for it.

UJS and Flash use different file formats for loading the maps into cache. I think for individual maps, the UJS sizes for map cache are larger than the Flash sizes. So it could be that when it loaded the Flash version of the map, Safari allocated some memory space so it could load the full map, but when you tried to load UJS version, Safari failed to re-allocate the memory to allow for more space to load the full map.

With the app, this doesn't matter, because the app tells the system on the iPad directly how much space it needs to allocate to load the full map, and it re-allocates automatically to account for larger maps when needed. With browsers, this isn't always true. The browser doesn't always re-allocate more space when needed, unless requested. What happened with you might have been that Safari didn't tell the system that it needed more memory.

Ahh ok interesting! Thank you for the info! I've been in weird tunnels about this: some say my memory (i have 8GB of RAM) is insufficient for proper gaming (which i thought was weird because sureIy a web page game would be one of the Least intensive 'video games' out there), some say my memory is adequate, others say to just wipe the whoIe thing then reinstall from backup.. a valid way but it doesn't help explain why the problem occurs.

Thank you for your explanation! It certainIy helps. Is there anything i can do to stop it from crashing or shall i just leave it to apple to update safari and hope it helps war zone (or vice-versa)

If Safari asks you to allow it to allocate more memory or if you can do it in the browser's settings, then good. If that doesn't work or you can't, you could try using other browsers. I don't own an Apple device so I can't directly help you with Safari, but I've been using Chrome and I haven had any problems getting large maps like Huge Europe to load. The thing I've notice is it just takes longer to load, but that's just because of how big it is.

I did a little research on Safari and UJS, and I found that other Safari users have problems getting programs using UJS to run. I may be that Safari doesn't fully support UJS. If you say Huge Europe does partially load on Safari when using UJS, that must mean Safari has at least some support for UJS, but it could be that Apple purposely limited the power UJS could use with Safari, as I also found that initially Apple wasn't going to add support for UJS to Safari when UJS first came out.

yee it does i'd say Ioad the map but you can see the stuggIe in trying to zoom in and Load the chat. but theres a very smaII window of time where you have to open a new tab or exit safari before it freezes and crashes (if you Iet it, i just turn the power off and on cuz i cba to wait).

thanks for researching! I hope appIe can upgrade, if thats the word, UJS-safari compatibility. better yet flash comes back :( IoI
