New 3 v. 3 (1 v. 1) Tournament: 6/6/2014 23:50:07

After my friend, Kasparov, created the template used in the following game: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=5933804
I absolutely fell in love with it. I later realized that it would be interesting to get the elite WarLight players to try and play it with randomized teams. The scenario uses a 1 v. 1 template, and has been edited in a devious way to make it into a 3 v. 3 that requires the best teamwork. That way, their teamwork skills can be combined to their general skill and it can be a tournament of the ages! If you do wish to join please comment below with something along the lines of "I'm in."

Just to restate/add:
-Teams will be randomized.
-It will be a Double Elimination
-The # of teams involved will depend on the # of players I have willing to join.
-Credits for creating the template go to Kasparov
-Any suggestions/feedback of any kind would be appreciated.

Thank you, Lion.

The following is a list of players that are currently a part of the tournament:
-Lion
-Kasparov
-Darkpie
-Cheery Dog
-[PIP] ℊк
-Blue
-Dr. Stupid
-NostanceTD

That is pretty interesting. Wouldn't it be more interesting if you had 5 reinforcement cards of +1 every turn? I mean, sure there would never be a +5 like in real strategic 1v1, but it would be more true to the setting that way.

I'm playing the ongoing tournament right now. I like it... it's a bit special but worth a try!

I've played this scenario numerous times, and that part is what allows it to be more interesting. It only allows one person to take a card, as opposed to dividing up the armies into different people. However, that also poses a problem, as eventually you start to get more than 1 reinforcement card per turn. That is a setback although not major as it comes later in the game by which time you should have used the best of your strategy. The beginning of the game is the most important part.
-So are you guys in?

I'll link the tourney when I make it. I need to know how many players we will have before I create it.
The Cro, it is indeed both.

EDIT: Oh, you mean the first one Kasp hosted? It's still ongoing but I'll link it for you :)

I would suggest changing the reinforcement card to only one piece per turn.

For this event could we shoot for a total of eight teams? That'd be 8x3 = 24 players total; that'd 4-5 rounds if I remember correctly. That'd give us a tournament with a reasonable number of "elite" players (trying to get more to come will be like herding frogs!) and an entertaining championship that won't last for years ;)

And thank you for hosting, Lion! This template's worth it!

I'd love to get in on this! (that is, if I won't tarnish the eliteness of the event too much...)
