I just got feedback for the first map I've made, but I am unsure how to respond to it? I suppose I can ask you guys for feedback on this too.

Some of the connections were done as split territories (I saw some neat usage of those in the 7 years war, so I did a different take).

I refrained from using lines to connect territories that would overlap too many territories/other lines as it would make things a lot busier, so I wanted to see if this alternative would be better: https://imgur.com/a/aVedAEM ?

It helps if you share the map. In the map developer, to the left of the screen is the green button "Link for sharing". Click it and post the top link here, that way we can look at the map too!

I assume the feedback you got was that the connections weren't clear enough?
Try to make all the connections visual, meaning you can see them without reading or clicking territories.

"To: Tenaan Jungle" is very friendly, but if I can't see where "Tenaan Jungle", it isn't really helpful.

I've added some dotted connections as well as the words.

That is a lot of lines, you might want to use something else to indicate those links. Perhaps brightly colored portals/boats could be used. (Where the portals with the same colors are linked.)

There are some instances of that, but I think what clicked just now with your reply is the "brightly coloured portals".
Perhaps I can outline them with a bright colour.
