Hi everyone. I enjoy learning about different ancient civilizations, they way their people lived, and why they collapsed. I have always thought of the Warlight community as intelligent so I thought I would get some peoples' opinion on the subject.

My favorites are New Kingdom Egypt and the Roman Empire.

What are some of yours?

Well....mongols are a bit late for that time, but i'll have to say either the romans or greece, mostly athens.

I guess, i was thinking that the mongols were a little more modern, i still like them though :P

Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Norse have the best Gods, so defo them

Loathe Rome. Therefore I like Carthage.

After that, Britons and Norse/Danes.

China is my favorite ancient civilization; Shang and Zhou Dynasties to be more specific, as they are the "ancient dynasties."

Alexander The Great's Macedonia-Greek-Persian Empire is definitely my favorite.

And @Richard Sharpe, why do you loathe Rome? They were surely an interesting empire to say the least.

I am not a big fan of the egyptions but i dont mind the roman empire and Anciehnt Mongolia!

By the way the Hunnic Empire is also a cool one. And the Tui Tonga Empire or the Mali Empire as well.

Of course greeks and romans are cool too but they are too mainstream empires :)

They are not strictly speaking civilisations - well certainly not ones that passed the test of time with the exception of the Ptolomies but I find the wars of the diadochi era interesting.

That period is the battles to hold Alexanders empire in which his generals fought as per his (possible) last words when asked who should rule his vast empire "the strongest".

I like the Khmer empire the best, they had great architecture. But they are from around the Mongol time, so I guess it's a little late too.
My second is the Indus Valley Civilization.
