Not to be debbie downer cause I like this idea but this is very quickly going to be useful for only expert players ...

While I don't know everyone on the list I already see 4 players that I know will clean my clock ! and likely many of the rest would too !

If u want it for everyone on Warlight consider some progressive belt scheme.

IDK maybe after notching 20 wins the legend has to set up the next belt and u can't get on that list till u have 20 wins too.

So players at all levels could enter at the bottom and move up the belts as they eventually improve their game.

If u consider this 20 wins seems way to high maybe only 5 - 7

me thinks that would for all levels once enough belts were established

hmmm thats certainly and interesting thought, i actually quite like it. As you say it would have to be shortened to Maximum 5 games otherwise people in the upper levels would be waiting a while before they get apponants.

its too late and ive had too many beers for me to think about this now, but it certainly is something to think about

yep still thinking about it and still think its a great idea. i have a few ideas running around in my head, ill probably run it seperate to this belt but with levels you can move up so as you said people will be playing against people their own level. im going to leave this one to run for a bit first though so i can iron out things out for the "progresive belt"

quick suggestion: why not have different categories? (heavyweight, featherweight etc, i don't know boxing).

They could be based either:
-on choice, the higher the category the more prestige you get for holding the belt, holding a low belt for a pro player would be like a pro boxer fighting in an amateur league.

-on games played

Good to hear u still like the idea!
I think the wait time by those interested would be shortened as 5 wins move u and starts another belt level game going.

Also think it would give those that play a great idea just where they rank amongst all players.

Maybe us roman numerals I II III IV V VI on until it stops when the guy at the top cannot be beat. That might be level M lol (and I'd hope to make it up to XXV where I'd likely hit my peter principle level and wonder how I ever even made it that far.

Maybe that could be the theme "Rise to your Peter Principle"

I'll be patiently ( actually impatiently ) waiting.

Just glad your still interested, and yes it seems wise to monitor the Belt already started to sllow u to adjust or tweak as needed.

How about a completely separate player ranking "tournament" on the forum? Here's my idea:
-An approximate ranking of players is posted on the forum topic (and put down in order, approximately of skill, only those who want to participate are named).
-You can challenge any player at least 5 ranks above you(if you are not ranked you should say so on the forum and you will be added at the bottom of the ranking list).
-Best of 5 games on strategic 1V1 template (a member has to create).
-If you win you take his place at his rank, and he goes down 1 rank (as do all the players ranked below him).

nice ideas. your first one is what we have been discussing and will probably be implimenting something along them lines however your last post is a good idea but something completely different to the belts. This should maybe be be started in a seperate thread if you are interested in starting a new tournament.
