Hello good Warzoneers. I'm getting into mapmaking but it's not that easy for me as a beginner. It can be a handful or a big slice of cake if you know what I mean, what with all this new information to absorb and the basic learning apparatus. Wowzers!

So I'm interested in mapmaking and Fizzer of all people directed me into the hands of experts. I've seen these maps and think they are very creative. I've been trying to make a map of the Sangoan Culture in modern day Ethiopia, Uganda, Botswana and on the side have been working on a 4000 territory jigsaw puzzle of the earth with high definition Indonesia... political and geographical borders. All the glitz. I'd like to say I'm glad I found this forum and would be grateful for tips and tricks. I have watched some tutorials so know a little bit but would indeed like more hands on help when it comes to parts that are sticky.

I don't think you can make a map over 3,200 territories

Just download the Map Designer - very easy, just follow instructions on the wiki. Then to access it, click the Multi-Player tab >> then there should be Design Maps option at the bottom

What exactly do you you mean by the map designer? Are you referring to the program used to create the SVG (commonly Inkscape) or the Warzone editor?
Inkscape is used to create the map design (territories, bonus boxes, artwork, etc.) and the Warzone editor is used to do the rest (set the territory connections, set territory names, select which territories are in which bonus, distribution settings etc.).

I figured it out but I'll check the presentation. Can someone tell me when I upload my svg some of territories show up correctly but the others are outlined but are grey instead of white like i had them and say "no name". What is causing this?

I'm confused. Is the issue occurring inside the 'Design Maps' tool on Warzone or on Inkscape? If on Warzone, neutral territories always appear grey and there is no changing that. Furthermore, you have to click the territory and type in a name for it on the left. Every territory must have a unique name.

In the design maps tool, there is a button on the left. I think it's called 'Link for Sharing' or something. Use that.

I wonder if it could be the handle to cusp node not being used completely through the adjacent borders? Could this be a problem?

I've seen tutorials where you make the bonuses first and territories second. Is it possible to do it in reverse?

Don't make attempt to make a map that hits the territory limit as your first map, lol. Gain some experience first.
