Introduction- The Player vs The World event is the second event of its kind. One of the best players in Warlight, Odin will be playing a game against the world, with 'the world' voting on their favourite set of moves, which has been decided by a panel of 7 players. The most popular version will be executed. See (http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread?ThreadID=38816 for more details.
Panel- Dead Piggy, Fridge, Gnuffone, Marc2013 Pulsey, Szeweningen,Timinator

Last turn Option E was most popular...
Take SA and check China : +5 Colombia| 3v2 Hong kong 4v2 Brazil, 4v2 Argentina

It seems Odin picked the exact same as us. We have full intel. CA, Scan, W China. We also got worst leftovers in South America which didn't help our situation.

Cards we have : 1 Blockade card

The Panel has decided on following options.

{A}
Take South America, move to Scan, blockade China.

+2 Brazil, +2 Argentina, +1 Jiangxi, 3v2 Moscow, blockade Jiangxi with 2

{B}
Take South America, blockade China.

+2 Brazil, +2 Argentina, +1 Jiangxi, 3v2 Bolivia, 3v2 Venezuela, blockade Jiangxi with 2

{C}
Take South America, blockade China,

+2 Argentina, +3 Brazil, 3v2 Bolivia, 4v2 Venezuela, blockade Jiangxi with 1

{D}
Move to Scan, take South America:

+2 Argentina, +3 Brazil, 3v2 Moscow, 3v2 Bolivia, 4v2 Venezuela

{E}
Play safe,

+5 Brazil, 6v2 Venezuela, transfer 1 from Argentina to Brazil

{F}
Take South America,

+3 Brazil, +2 Argentina, 3v2 Bolivia, 4v2 Venezuela.

My opinion is A. It doesn't look good for us, so we should rely on 3v2 luck. Next turn he will probably check SA, and we can distract him with being in Moscow.

"A" seems to be most reasonable option here.

Also my question from turn 1: is there autoboot and can you paste link to a game ?

Hello

OK, nice. I don't know why you talk about this game as in the past. Taking South America was since Odin could have been in China. He is there so everything worked out as planned. Stop this negative talk please.

Here is how I would play as Odin:
- First turn I deployed full in Scandinavia. I assumed you would try to take China
- Second turn I see you in China. I'm pretty sure you went 3v2 to Hong Kong and 5v2 to Shanghai. I assume I have the game won. I will take Scandinavia for sure and with the remaining armies.... depends how much leftovers I have on what places.
- Without calculating things completely through I don't think Odin has enough armies to attack South America with a 5v2 attack. If he was able to do so I would maybe attack South America 5v2, Scandinavia 3v2 and China 3v2 last order. If this isn't possible I would take Scandinavia with 4v2 and deploy the remaining armies in China to prevent you form sneaking the bonus.

I'm not sure which option is the best honestly. Attacking both South America spots with 3v2 only gives a 64% chance of succeeding. But then on the other hand Odin would clear us from China without us blockading there so we would have to win the game super fast what I don't see happening. I think option A is the best.

Im not in a hurry to move towards scand, it just gives him more options with regards to clearing us from Russia. Better to leave the situation uncomplicated and make it a fight between SA and CA with us 8-9 up in income. Once we have a stack to move between Columbia and Venezuela we become quite safe there and can smoosh scand at our own pace.

3v2s in SA and a blockade of 2 in china, sit in Russia.

We are losing.

OK, I think dead piggy is right. Moving towards Scandinavia with a tiny 3v2 attack adds more pressure on us than on him. Problem is also that we risk not getting a card piece next turn when moving towards Scandinavia this turn.

Edit: That would be option C then.
Edit: I mean option B, not C

In that case even one 3vs2 failed means failure, therefore card pieces are not important.
Isn't it better to capture Arkhangelsk than to sit still?

he means that this turn we obviously will get a card piece. Next turn we will have SA and probably want to spend all our income defending it, so if we have some armies in Russia to make a 3v2 with then we will be happy little chappies. So attacking in Russia this turn is bad.

Option A: No.

If we move towards Scand, Odin gets more options, we don't.

Option B: Yes.

This game is over if we don't get a bonus. This game is also over if he moves into SA. We have to hope he goes into China strong, either thinking we can complete it, or trying to clear us. It's a weak hope. He has full intel and probably will prevent SA but I don't see us having a better choice.

Option C: No.

Blockade is too small. 1 x 350% = 4 rounded. That's like an external expansion. It's way too easy to take and even with 8 income and defending himself he would be able to whittle down and take.

Option D: No.

We can't move towards Scand.

Option E: No.

He used all his income on expansion. He'll have a bonus. We need one.

Option F: Maybe.

Not blockading China could be bad, but there's always the chance he doesn't move in.. but I'd rather bet on him moving into China thus wasting income he could've used to bust SA. It makes no sense not to blockade China if you are going to take SA.
