What's up with the 1914 map?: 4/27/2014 19:34:03

I am friends with the guy who is making the huge 1914 world map, and both of us are not completely sure why it hasn't been published already. Whoever publishes maps has not published it and has sent vague messages saying that some territories are too small, but has not said which ones are too small. As far as zxctycxz (the guy who is making the map) knows, all his territories are roughly the same size as those on Issander's huge world map, and that has been published. Seeing as the popularity of this map is kinda dying down, I would love it if someone (ideally the map publisher(s)) would help us finish it off as it has great potential for future tournaments and games.

thanks

It takes at least 24hrs, sometimes 2-3 days. It will eventually be published, but fizzers got a lot on his mind.

Oh didn't read all. He has to make circles for territory's if there to small and like below, 2 digits have to fit in each territory. Check this out by 'show example armies on Weditor'

Maps have to be able to hold a two digit number. You can try this out in the WL editor. This means a territory has to be roughtly 16x16 big. I believe that the one sending you messages is Fizzer, he is the creator of the game and the only one who can make maps publish on the site. If you don`t know for sure what is wrong you can mail him.

me and my friend know that each territory has to hold double digits, but many published maps have territories which just about dont fit two digits, in fact, issanders huge world has smaller territories than zxctycxz's in many cases. Apollo, I know we have to wait a couple of days for it to be made public, but we have waited many weeks, and messages keep coming saying that territories are too small. zxctycxz has spent a few hours merging small territories together, but if this carries on, the map could end up looking quite distorted

me and zxctycxz just need to know which territories to merge and how many to merge, so the map can have as much detail and accuracy as possible

Calm. Patience is key to map making. I don't have access to a computer at the moment, but when I do I will check. Have you actually talked to Fizzer about what you need to change? It's quite simple.

Yeah, having every single territory fit a 2-digit number is defiantly not a necessity, look at 'ABC Islands' on Issander's Huge World Map.

zxctycxz, you could message fizzer just to ask him who the map publishers are and what territories they think are too small

http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Map_requirements

Players sometimes notice maps that are already public that don't meet some of these requirements. Older maps that were created before these requirements existed are grandfathered in, such as the Wheel map that does not have bonus links or the United States Big map that had tiny territories. The presence of the old violations does not exempt new maps from the requirements.
