Local Deployment: Highlighting Secondary Bonuses?: 8/21/2019 14:13:40

Hello all. Please remind me where I might go to make a request for a change in the game.

I'd like to see a way to highlight all of the secondary bonuses when creating a Local Deployment game so that it isn't such a pain to track them all down and change the value to zero. Is anyone aware of a trick to make this easier?

It would be awesome if on the Armies tab it was easy to tell which of the territories on the list is a secondary bonus so that they could be easily customized.

I think I posted something about this somewhere before but I don't know how to find my previous posts.

Thoughts?

I suppose this is undoable. People tend to think as "secondary" or "superbonuses" as something that contain smaller bonuses, but the bonus system is way more flexible. There are maps with bonuses that overlap partially - how would you decide then, which of them is "primary" and which "secondary"?

As an example, take a look on Poland Big map. There is a bonus for each "wojewodztwo" (the Polish equivalent of US state, German land, Swiss canton, etc.) but there is also a bonus for having all coastal territories. None of them is contained in the other.

Another - rather extreme - example are maps with progressive bonuses, like Biomes, Gotham City or Elitist Africa. The progressiveness is implemented with a big number of overlapping bonuses: for each 1, 2, 3, etc. subset of territories in the actual bonus. Here you would like to think of the "most superbonuses" as the actual one to keep.

You are a member, so I recommend you use mods. There is an experimental mod made by me, called BonusValue QuickOverrider. Either just use it to make your own mod, or use it in a few steps to find the superbonuses. (It can find superbonuses, but don't have the option to set them to zero. So you would need to create the game to find superbonuses. Since they show as higlighted in settings when overriden, you can remove the mod and set them to zero and add LD on a second game creation)

Try it ;)

If you think you will use it a lot let me know, and I can add it right too the mod. Would be a simple change.

My mod just counts #territories in a bonus. On most maps, superbonuses are much bigger then smaller bonuses, but some edge cases might not be labeled as superbonuses ofc. I don't t recomend Biomes style ;)

Thank you for the replies guys. Yes, I understand how it might be more complicated with multiple overlapping bonuses. The odds of using a map like that are probably low, I guess I'm just fantasizing about simplicity. There are quite a few maps with "simple" super bonuses.

I'll play with the mod when I get a chance, sounds like fun!

Thanks again!
