Every country has problems with debt. That's not an excuse, nor good reasoning behind your immigration reform. Mexico is a big thorn is the USA's side.
Speaking of alternate words, Germany is an interesting example. In numerous languages, none of them seem to agree on what to call it. The ones that call it Deutschland or a similar variant of that word got it from Old High German diutisc or similar. Germany came from the Latin name of the land called Germania (which happens to be what the Italians call it too). Some got it from the Allemani tribe, such as the French Allemagne. Numerous Slavic languages use the Slavic exonym nemets, meaning foreigner. And of course, the Finns call it Saksa from the Saxons.
