What the difference between get booted and surrender in ladder games? I see too much plpayers doing this. Does that change how much you lose?

Afaik there is no difference, it just acknowledges it as a loss

I think that some ladder players are very competitive, and when they get into a tough spot they decide to take a few days to think it over, but then either never make it back or never figure out a move set that could work.

Either that or they are very vain and don't want to see "surrender" under their name, as if it makes a difference.

or that they want to wait until they get the highest ever ranking possible before surrendering. Ex. they are losing in 1 game, and winning in 3 games. Some people would like to win the those 3 games first, and then surrender in the other game. So they delay it, taking turns right before the boot time. Sometimes though, they forget, and get booted instead.
