Hey guys, I was thinking of making my previous idea for a Warzone map a reality, but I am confused with how to make a good SVG file. I'm used to MS Paint and not inkscape and have no clue how to use it to make a map. Any tips?

Draw the big map as a whole first (pen tool is fine) and then split it into bonuses and territories.

Bookmarking this thread. My chromebook can't download/install programs like windows does, but I could try on my laptop over the summer. Limitless time+autism powers=good map?
Can Pixlr Editor create maps, or do I need inkscape?

The map has to be an SVG. Most resources that have been linked in this thread help with Inkscape.

It's in as much detail as it can be, but, sure, let me try.

It's a useful way to make territories. Let's take the most simple example: your map is a circle, and it has two bonuses: two halves of the circle. Each of those bonuses has two territories (so that each territory is a quarter of the circle). Try that out in Inkscape once and you'll see how you can do other shapes.

So, draw the circle first. It needs to be a closed shape, or it won't work. So far, so good, right?

Then, draw a line across the circle. Just straight on through the middle. It's good if the line sticks out of the circle at the ends.

Select the line. Press ctrl-alt-c.
Select the line and (holding shift) select the circle too, so that you have both selected at the same time. Press ctrl-shift-minus.
Then, ctrl-shift-k.
You now have two separate halves of the circle, both with their own border. These will be the bonuses.

Since each bonus needs territories too, draw a line across one of the bonuses. If the ends stick out, great!
Select both the line and (by holding shift) the half circle at the same time.
Press ctrl-/

Tadaa! You have split the circle first in half, each half with their own border, for bonuses. Then, you split one of those halves in half again, with both quarters sharing a border.

That's all there is to it. If this doesn't work out, tell me what you ended up with so I can figure out what went wrong.
