Taking it can be beneficial, but it also may cause some problems.
It works similat to Civ's goody huts.

This may be my personal preference, but I would prefer to not know the weight of the events.

Just have the mod draw random weights when the game starts, instead of the host setting the weight. Or perhaps just some overarching Good/Bad weight?

I would test but the MD boot time scared me away :P
