In this game on Big NY, He change a 10 bonus to 109, made no comments, didn't answer chat questions about where this random big bonus was.
To make matters worse, no Vote to End, he quit playing when I beat him, and I caught him doing the same thing on a Solar System map with another random 10X bonus. (He deleted game, otherwise I'd post link.)
So the questions are:
-Is Player Beware sufficient to have to notice changed bonuses?
-Is this even right?
Another tangent:
I saw other players do this by tweaking (1.5x) some of the bonuses on Europe, not specifically calling out the changes, but giving the game title something sotra like a Trademark, Eurpoe +++, or something like that.
I don't mind that as much, because I don't see it as trying to game the system to get a cheap win.
Thoughts on bonus changing?

My question is, why rescind your vote to end? Once the cheap game creator left you should have explained the situation and VTE.

I think it could be made more obvious. There is text when you join the game, but not everybody notices this. And no, "you should know this" is really not a valid reply. The one you pointed out obviously is cheating and purely used to get wins. Not everybody, especially not when joining real-time games, has the time to go and look at the settings before the game is already full. So, probably a small icon showing bonuses have changed in that particular map would be a good thing.
Of course, go ahead and blacklist the player since you certainly don't want to play with him again.

An honorable player does. He saw the game had a BS move in it, beat the creator to that bonus and thus had the game sealed up. He should then have VTE based on his unfair advantage. Make the creator lose/get booted and then let no one else benefit from it.

Well, I did notice it, asked where it was, because the map has 100 bonuses, i asked where it was.
As to rescinding the Vote, I offered, again, I didn't choose to explain myself, they can all read as well. If they want to play it out, I'll let them, but I'm not going to get 20 turns in and then let them.

Today I saw a game 1 vs 3 with map a multiplied world.
The host put the game in this way:
"Team A (him) can choose Japan - Team B (othes) cannot choose Japan"
Going to look the map I saw he put Japan a 50 bonus army...
How can I report this "scammer"? This isn't anymore a fair game and if I didn't checked I would have fallen in his trap too...
Is this normal?! How can i report this player?

Tharyl,
I saw the game you describe and to me it was acceptable. I say this because he was putting forward a 5 v 1 game. If the 5 are half decent players they should be able to overcome that bonus differential in a couple of turns and have the advantage.
Had he made the change to the bonus but had it a normal FFA then he would be a scammer but he made sure to point out the tweak to the system and justify it by making it a team game.

Beatable bonus? Single land = 50 armies per turn? Try summarize the bonus in that map... Does it even reach 100? If not that is only a scam, even if it was 10 vs 1. Come on... He even didn't mentioned it in the comments of the game, only that Japan was for team A...

Tharyl,
The game I saw was on either double Earth I believe. As such there should be about 200 armies worth of bonuses I believe, plus the initial 20 army advantage for the opposing team.
Now we may not have seen the same game, but the game I did see it was evident what his thought process was and he was just trying to create an extra challenge for himself ([JAKUB BOSS 8]( http://warlight.net/Profile.aspx?p=648472471) was the player I saw)
As for what to do when you come across such a game, I would recommend blacklisting the game creator to start. If you have joined the game unwittingly, you can make a forum post and include the game link to warn off other players of this devious maneuver. But as I said above, I would consider the circumstances first before immediately rushing to persecute.

5 players each with 5 income means everyone else starts at 25 combined, compared to his 55. In two turns they can each have a bonus, meaning roughly 9 per, or close to equal. Then strategy is involved and it becomes a real game.
Granted, the opposing players would have to be good, but how else would you expect a 5v1 to work?
At worst it's a poorly devised game, but I wouldn't call it a scam.

Perrin, I disagree, the host should highlight any changes he made. This bonus is clearly very cheap. And the host used this to his advantage. The map is fairly large, how can you possibly see the changed bonus? Also, not everyone checks the settings. i can speak for at least half of the warlight community. Plus, in real-time games, they usually fill out pretty fast, so by checking the settings, often times, the game will be filled before you finish, thus, it will be too late for you to join. In multi-day games, I agree you should aways check the settings. But in real-time, even players like me (played 2000 games) seldomly check it. I think what the host did was wrong, and should have stated in the title, or the personal message that there was an overriden bonus. He also should have stated it in public chat.

I am in this 5v1 game, as part of the 5, and I went into it with eyes open. It is on Double Earth, and there's some cards that make it more fair, but perhaps most importantly, it's a practice game. Also, the game creator put himself on the team of 5, so it obviously wasn't an attempt to score a cheap win.
As for John's case, buyer beware. The Settings page specifically shows every altered bonus. "You should know this" really is a valid reply, and I don't see why it's not. If you can't be arsed to check the settings before you play, you can't complain about what those settings are after you've joined. Checking the settings takes all of five or ten seconds. If you can't spare that, then how will you spare the time to actually play?

Aquaholic, he rescinded his offer to VTE after claiming the bonus and the creater left the game. Obviously once the creator left, everyone would have been on board with the VTE had the situation been explained.
Instead, the poster wanted to take advantage of the deception and get himself an easy win.
