Well, that is because the earth is a diamond.
If it wasn´t then you could easily threw a ball from Australia to Canada and the other way
round.
Though because of the earth being a diamond the ball will just land in the atmosphere and burn
down there before it reaches the space.
The kangaroo could most easily hop from Australia to GB, Spain, Italy, etc.
Thoug bc of the earth being a diamond it can´t bc the diamondshaped earth provides gravity.
The gravity exists bc the earth is spinning so fast that you don´t even notice it at all.
Since the earth is a solid obstacle it keeps its shape and thus it stays a diamond.
I.e. the Australians don´t fall into space bc of the gravity.
If the earth was i.e. a globe the ball then would come down again, meaning if the earth was
to be a globe, you could then threw a ball from Australia to Canada and it would come down
there.
But as you said you never did do that plus it wouldn´t function, even without taking physics
into consideration.
Thus it proves that earth is a diamond and not a globe or whatsoever.

Please explain me this part. If the earth was a diamond, gravity would even out the surface to a (near) globe and the spinning would cause the equator to be slightly off the globe. That would result in an ellisiod, which is what the Earth is right now.

First off, guard your tongue. The earth is still a diamond as of right now.
Second, the earth is solid and thus not deformable. That way it can not be an ellipsoid.
Third, I will enlighten you: The earth bc of not being deformable and solid it keeps its shape
which makes it a diamond. It keeps spinning with nearly c-speed of light in vacuum.
If earth wasn´t a diamond, gravity wouldn´t exist. Gravity only exists bc earth is spinning so
fast. And gravity prevents Australians and all those people on the Southern hemisphere to be
dragged into space. QED.
