oh and i would rename "two weaknesses" as "pincer attack" which is more appropriate, although on second thought it might not make as much sense if a player has territories in two distinct areas.

Good job....and hard work write all of this. I am glad to see that some details are missing. :-)))

I like team games.....and this map....because it is not too big like Asia ( too much clicking) .....and not too small....just OK.

Lately I was thinking a lot about my future games because recently I and up losing a lot because of teammates that dont want to play team game. Filters can do some job....but than again somebody win rate in team games it is not only his win rate.

Maybe it would be nice that players can do some kind of test. Test game or something like that.....and win warlight status ( rating). Than there can be games only for that category (like weight categories in boxing) . Games would be much more balanced and interesting.

psychological warfare

1. managing predictability:

- make predictable picks in unimportant games to give opponents the impression that you will make those picks in every game; then, in important games, make other, equally good picks (one way this can be done: always pick first in the former and pick after your teammates in the latter).
- effective use of garbage time: if you are (a) playing a weak team, (b) have already won, or (c) have already lost, it is garbage time: your moves don't really matter but the impression your moves make for future games might matter. it is a good time to (a) experiment with picks/moves, (b) try to overly reinforce others' perceived impressions of how you play or (c) give the opponent something new to see to make them think more about your moves in future games (when it matters).
- sports teams do these tricks often.

2. etc. (i won't offer any other suggestions...)

Szeweningen,

what is the point to write everything you know. You have written more than enough for new player who wants and know to read.
You dont miss whole topics....mostly some details.....like....dont be alone. Than story about map balance....you dont need balanced map....you need unbalanced map ( in your favor) to win. Some other "small" things.....but...... I want to play this game in future.

What I personally like the most about war light is "mind reading". This can be a new topic. You start with it on the very end.....but there is much more. What he will play next...in witch order....how to make him think that he knows what i will play.....You have something about this trough your document......but it can be and deserve to be separate topic.

Good job .....I didnt expect to find it so good.

another thing.....expanding or attacking......answer is both. This is manual for team game. After turn 1 good team decide who will play what.

Hmm, I may be wrong, but it seems you only read the contents page high. You misunderstood what I wrote about the expansion or attack and map balance part (at least what you wrote in 2 previous posts would suggest that). Map balance is part of risk-management. Unbalanced map makes the risk of losing higher, since you don't control a part of the map and where you do have the advantage, the enemy stifles your expansion. The expansion or attack part is part of income-management. You definitely won't be able to tell after turn 1 who'll be only attacking and who'll be always expanding (unless one of your teammates picked Spain). That raises the question what to do when you can do both and I introduced a theme of fake attack that helps with it. You can continue your attack with a fake attack tactic while you can still expand on the other side of the map giving you additional income. Or maybe I misunderstood what you wrote in previous posts.

Everything you wrote in last post is OK. My post was confusing.

Lets say it this way......we can definitely say what is bad playing. What is good, is much more complicated, because it depends what your opponent will play, how he will pick.

After finished first turn you have big chance to know where are your opponents....if they play good. You will not know if they start expanding in Spain, Turkey and Romania....but you are not writing how to play against team like that. But....what was point of my post? After game start somebody in team will be in better position to expand....and somebody else in better position to make problems to other team. I have lost few games because teammates wanted to play different role from role that picking stage gave them.

About balanced - unbalanced map. I agree with what you wrote in last post. You have written same as me....just in another way. You have wrote that opponent will win if they can expand in one part of map.....and make problems to other team on other part. I have wrote the same. To win.....you need unbalanced map, but unbalanced in your favor.

You have wrote something good in last post.....you used word ....always. That is true. You can write in manual......no strategy in for whole game.....adjust it according to opponent playing.

As I said.....document is more than good for new players. Why you want to write down everything?

My little contribution to your manual. It is not 3v3. It is 4v4 tournament...but you can find here some details that you missing in your manual.

It is also interesting because of your conversation with Gui. That story how best players CANT lose against average players. Difference in stats of these 2 teams is so big that we can say it is possible :-)))

high, can you elaborate? I don't see exactly what is so important in that game that was not covered in my guide... Also both teams picked bad, team BF picked worse than yours, that's all there is to it.

@ szeweningen

bad picks and good picks dont exist when you have 2 teams that know how to play. Nobody of them will start in Spain.

Their picks are not that bad. Bad is that they were playing all games in tournament in the same way. So....our picks (that looks also bad) were there because I knew where their picks will be (more or less). Pick in Sweden wasnt there just like that :-)) Others also....

This wasnt the only reason why we won. Whole strategy was to block the game.....to make game with less possible options....to make situation where they will have to attack. That is the only way you can win against team with much more experience.

This was done by surprise in Danmark and hiding income in switzeland. Hiding income wasnt only preparation for attack on Austria. Because of this opponent in Russia was wasting time and armies checking empty bonuses in Findland and Baltic states.

Some other details I will again keep for myself.
Can we say that I have won for you your bet with Gui?

Lol, the fact that one team won't get horrible picks does not mean that bad picks don't exist when 2 teams know how to play. Blunders can be big or small, but when opponents know how to utilise advantage at hand small blunders have huge consequences. In your game I'll list blunders (in picking) for both sides:
- all 3 picks in ireland
- getting 2 picks in portugal while letting go of slovakia
- 2 picks in denmark
- pick in west russia
Those are the outcomes that could have been avoided by picking different spots or in different order. Also I disagree with the premise that your plan using their old picks to make a plan is justified. I have never based my picks upon extrapolation from earlier games on a balanced map. That is not a strategy I would recommend in the long run...

Just wanted to say thanks and good work. I'm an average player who has started to realize a lot of the items you have listed but didn't have a "big picture" yet. Really helped out and if anyone has more info on becoming a better player, I am always wanting to know more. Thx again
