This is easy. If you don't know whether you are left or right then answer the question posed in the following scenario.

You are in Wiemar Germany. You have a choice between Fascism and Communism. There is no third option, like leaving the country.

Who do you support? What are you more afraid of? Fascism or Communism?

In that scenario I would be a Fascist because at least I would be well fed before I am executed. Fascism works. Communism doesn't.

This is not a good example in my opinion. Communism cant work, while Facist can work. I would pick Facism. And I say that as a lefty.
