It is a low-quality sensationalist article (hence why I linked an archive.is link so you don't have to give them ad revenue)

Another way to look at this phenomenon is to consider the likelihood that police are more reluctant to shoot suspects WITHOUT video evidence because more serious charges may be brought against them.

"But only a small number of the shootings — roughly 5 percent — occurred under the kind of circumstances that raise doubt and draw public outcry, according to an analysis by The Washington Post."

From a far-left source even.

If the police are perfectly fine with shooting suspects while being recorded, and only 1 in 20 fatal shootings even raise doubts - HMMMMMM

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2013/crime-in-the-u.s.-2013/tables/table-43

FBI crime statistics indicate Blacks and Hispanics are shot by the police in a similar proportion to their violent crime rates.

http://archive.is/tdQoX

Percent distributed, arrests for VIOLENT CRIME
58.4 (white) 38.7 (black)

(Hispanics isn't counted as a race, and most Hispanics will be counted as "white")

Percent distributed, fatal police shootings
41.5 (white) 25.5 (black) 15.7 (Hispanic ) 0.03 (other) 18.2 (unknown)

HOWEVER, HISPANICS ARE MOSTLY COUNTED AS WHITE BY THE FBI.

That meant the statistics could be rearranged. White becomes 57.1%
Keep in mind that the race of 106 of the 581 people shot in 2017 was not released. They very well may have been Black.

So Blacks are indeed shot less frequently by the police than they are arrested for violent crimes, as a proportion of the total cases in both of those fields.
You would think the narrative that police target black people to be shot, is actually fiction!

Note: this information is available, but only through sanitized, sensationalized yellow journalism articles by the corporate media! They'll give you the statistics, but it will be buried under a bunch of verbiage.

AmRen is infinitely more accurate than the corporate media, but it's always good to beat the Left with statistics from their own biased sources.

@Cata lol imagine actually believing this bullshit.

Look at a world map of murder rates and a world map of gun ownership. Most gun murders are committed by gangs killing other gangs and taking out hits, not private individuals or psychos that go on shooting sprees.

Letting every psycho moron having an automatic gun is 3rd world standard.

Oh yeah, high gun ownership definetely prevents the "gangs" from killing more people. Good job on that so far.
If you restrict gun ownership, the "gangs" will have a harder time getting guns too.
Now dont come with "they can buy it on the black market". Because according to that logic we should legalise murder too, just because people can still do it.

>Letting every psycho moron having an automatic gun is 3rd world standard.

Categorically false, gun ownership is lower in the third world, but gun violence is higher.
The political situation in countries like Latin America and Africa is responsible for the violence, not the guns themselves.

>If you restrict gun ownership, the "gangs" will have a harder time getting guns too.

Gangs already have guns. Its the ordinary citizens that don't have them in third world countries where gangs have significant power.

The idea isn't to make it harder for gangs to buy guns, the idea is to arm people who aren't part of gangs, to counterbalance the political power of gangs.

Every time something becomes contraband, whether it be marijuana or alcohol, or guns, it doesn't simply disappear, it falls into fewer hands yes, because normal people don't generally break the law, but it enters the domain of organized crime. By making something illegal, you invite the worsts of society to participate in that trade.

Actually it's the police's job to figth organised crime and not the job of the general population.

Since different races have different brain mass, and surprise surprise, a race with lower on average brain mass and IQ is responsible for more impulsive violence, yes. Race is a key factor in the murder rate and gun crime rate.

The Left wins this debate by default though, because they always make you prove that literally every black person has a low IQ, even though no one actually makes that argument.

Oh my sweet summer child.

You americans really gotta find the definition of left-right positions lol. Calling the Post a far-left journal is the same as considering the Clintons left wing politicians, you got to see further than that.

You see, there's a problem when you say something is far-left, or far-right for instance, if you can easily find things that are more extreme than what you said was an extreme, then you're saying foolishnesses.

Calling Trump a Far-right politician is stupid as fuck, he's no Hitler or Pinochet, just a moron. Calling the Post far-left ignores the fact that they endorsed Clinton in october 2016! A far-left journal would at the very least endorse Bernie, or like some real far-left journals say he's not leftist enough, isn't that right socialistworker.org ?

Either way, try putting people in the right boxes, qualifying someone as an extremist just because he doesn't fit your political view is the root of insane levels of polarisation no democratic society should have.

The goal of widespread gun ownership is MAD (mutually assured destruction). When only one party has guns (like gangs) then they are free to nuke whoever they want and maximize suffering.

I support private citizens being able to carry whatever the gangs are carrying.

The right to bear arms should be granted, I agree. However only to people who are less likely to cause harm with them. A test proving they know how to use them, clean criminal record and mental stability.

And why should taxes be used to arm civilians?

I never said that.

When it comes to heavy bias it is certainly a huge problem, I really dislike biased ideas that aren't aligned with reality or common sense.

However, I must said that in my life experience, I got a lot of very good political talks with heavily biased people. I have talked Marxists, Royalists, Fascists and Ancaps that I seriously consider some of the smartest people I ever met. In the contrary, I have met dumb fucks close to my political positions with whom I couldn't support listening more than five minutes to.

So I wouldn't say that being biased necessarily means you have no idea of the subject you're talking about, although I must also say that there's some sort of corelation on that...

Regarding violence in the African-American population:

On 14 January 2015 the Washington Post published an article by Niraj Chokshi on U.S. homicide rates.

Link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2015/01/14/map-the-black-homicide-rate-in-almost-every-state/?utm_term=.c5247756b671

The news from the article is almost unremittingly grim. Rates of homicide among the African-American community are shameful high. Now let me bar a little against being misunderstood. What is being spoken of is the numbers of victims, per 100,000 people in a number of states, and it is generally the case that victim and perpetrator are of the same ethnicity. For our purposes it is eminently fair to ignore all exceptions.

The state with the highest rate of black homicide is Missouri. The homicide rate among black victims in Missouri was 34.98 per 100,000 in 2012. In that same year Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, and Wyoming had no black homicides of any sort. These states have small black populations both absolute numbers and in terms of percentages.

One could compare states with small black populations such as Alaska and Hawaii where in 2012 one state had no homicides and the other had three. However I doubt that these are facts which speak with a clear voice.

It might be more meaningful to ask why violent crime in general has declined over the past thirty years in the United States. As to that question, I will stand mute.

Rates of illegitimate births in the United States have varied. The comment at the Washington Post article that I found telling was one which blamed the parents of violent criminals for their criminality. There is a point in doing this. We are subject to influence not withstanding our own agency.

I believe Walter E. Williams shines a light on one of the nations great scandals in his article, The True Black Tragedy: Illegitimacy Rate of 75%. Williams is an astute fellow. He tells us:

Hustlers and people with little understanding want us to believe that today's black problems are the continuing result of a legacy of slavery, poverty and racial discrimination. The fact is that most of the social pathology seen in poor black neighborhoods is entirely new in black history. Let's look at some of it.

Today the overwhelming majority of black children are raised in single female-headed families. As early as the 1880s, three-quarters of black families were two-parent. In 1925 New York City, 85 percent of black families were two-parent. One study of 19th-century slave families found that in up to three-fourths of the families, all the children had the same mother and father.

Today's black illegitimacy rate of nearly 75 percent is also entirely new. In 1940, black illegitimacy stood at 14 percent. It had risen to 25 percent by 1965, when Daniel Patrick Moynihan wrote "The Negro Family: The Case for National Action" and was widely condemned as a racist. By 1980, the black illegitimacy rate had more than doubled, to 56 percent, and it has been growing since. Both during slavery and as late as 1920, a teenage girl raising a child without a man present was rare among blacks.

link: http://www.cnsnews.com/commentary/walter-e-williams/true-black-tragedy-illegitimacy-rate-nearly-75

Now what Williams has told us does not explain away this question of violence, but illegitimacy is an aggravating factor.

I would caution those who would claim that blacks do violence because of some inherent factor to look to the homicide rates of the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa. Burkina Faso enjoys an enviable rate of 0.71 per 100,000. While other nations such as Lesotho are cursed with high rates of violent crime. Both of these countries are populated by black Africans, and yet in terms of violence are they not as different from one another as the night is from the day?

Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

I put it to you: the notion that any of us are doomed to lives of criminality is just wrong.
