I would only use it for spammers that overpost low-value content.

I wouldn't use it to block people that I disagree with though. Mainly because I would be concerned people would think I was a thin-skinned flake. Although, no one would really know I was a thin-skinned flake for blocking people that I couldn't win an argument with unless I were to let people know I was blocking them. Do what you want.

Nobody wins arguments of the kind you're referring because nobody in those arguments ever admits they are wrong. Everybody has their own tactics to avoid doing that. Yours involve blatantly lying so you can always claim to be correct via your alternative facts.

It's mostly a giant waste of time. Blocking people helps to avoid being baited into wasting that time.

This bait that I just took is a perfect example. I made an accurate and correct counter point to what you said. But it's not about being right here. You just want to disagree with me. Truth is irrelevant, you are motivated by a desire to attack me. There is a 0% chance you will agree with me or say I'm right about anything, ever. So what is the point of arguing with someone like that?

You go off on a random unrelated tangent, saying that I'm referring to some fictitious argument.

I think I may need to download Dan's awesome script to help me get rid of nonsensical forum posts that attack random strawmen and frame it as a "accurate and correct counterpoint." This is despite the fact that the only point I was made is that if people bother you, you can download a script and block their posts.
