Speck gets it. The president is fairly insignificant compared to the power of SCOTUS. SCOTUS can instantly destroy or create law based only on their own opinions.

Don't like a law? Simply rule it unconstitutional, no need for a legislative battle.

The most important thing that the president has control over with quite limited checks from the other branches of the government is foreign policy. The legislature creates the laws. The legislature can also prevent the appointment of judges that they don't believe will rule fairly. The legislature cannot meaningfully impact how the president enacts his foreign policy. If Trump continues to antagonize our allies and provoke our enemies, I fail to see how anything else could justify continuing to support him.
