what about europe map with this settings.i think this is better to teach rookies how to pick and how to move. a veteran player can win without using SC

Not that I didn't believe it before, but this showed me how good a true veteran really is. It's mind-boggling to me how well some of his moves were thought out, as well as the fact that he beat me outright before playing his SC. The picks alone amaze me the more I think about them...

Still playing my 2nd game with Fizzer, but I'll post those 2 games up when it finishes.

Alright, here are my 2 games with Fizzer:

[emoose vs. Fizzer - Round 1](http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1758994)

[emoose vs. Fizzer - Round 2](http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1759573)

I learned a lot from the 3 games I've played so far, so thank you to gil for coming up with the idea and setting the games up, as well as Fizzer and The Impaller for playing me.

First game with Fizzer showed me how horribly wrong my pick tendencies were. Second game (against Impaller) still dazes me when I think about Impaller's picks, but I did learn an important lesson on how to use Blockade effectively, as well as getting a lot of practice with fighting across multiple bonuses that are near completion. Although I hadn't quite gotten the hang of picks before the start of my 2nd game with Fizzer, I had some time to practice in 1v1 auto-games before it really got going, and I held my own quite well near the end (I'm confident I would have won if I had done my picks differently).

One thing to note, my 2nd game with Fizzer was at 75% luck (couldn't change it since I created the game) and rather than the 1000-turn SC, I altered it to have a 7-turn duration. I very much liked it this way as opposed to having the vet play a Sanction after x turns because nothing unexpected happened to my per-turn armies, which was such a big difference that I honestly didn't notice any difference when the SC wore off. I'd strongly recommend that change to any rookie/vet duo that's playing additional games with the SC.

Now you know how to use that idea to make games with AI challenging. I screwed up the picks (thought I would be fast enough with my expansion), but it turned out that -40% was too much for me (and I know, I played badly first 10-12 turns, especially australia). That came as a surprise to me, because I thought I'd win easily.

So, now let's have an open contest, who can beat AI with sanctions card? The most powerful sanctions card wins!

I propose Impaller uses a 95% sanctions card on turn 1

Szewen..

why not just turn on surrendered players turn into AI, then sanctions yourself?
I noticed you never bothered to even the playing field with your own sanctions cards..

Tes, since when playing the AI I have the advantage in cards I figured I won't play sanctions at all. And if luck wasn't 75% I might have won this...

But yeah, turning into an AI is better;)

I forgot to use my sanctions card until turn 2, unfortunately...

also.. the last turn, the AI put 5 armies on each territory, I killed one territ, then he attacked from it, \*order displaced* then I killed his other territ.. he was acting as if he would attack another territ, but the order hadn't arrived.. naturally he could of just been building to wall up against me but..

Still, I recommend fighting with AI without using your sanctoins card on it. It provides a decent challenge. Actually I believe sth of this sort should be in single player challenge levels (though unsure how it'd be implemented).

The AI is decent at expansion, but terrible at fighting a war. The AI gets far worse when it's fighting on multiple fronts.

Just won my game =)
It might also be an option to give players several sanction cards of shorter duration. The rookie gets for example 4-6 or 10-14 with a duration of 3 turns each while the vet get's half or a third of that amount. Then both agree on when and how much of their sanction cards they play.
I'm having in mind that the rookie and the vet do get full income around maybe mid-game again, ideally on the same turn. The vet would be hindered for a longer period of time, of course - but not for the whole game so he would have more of a chance to equalize and subsequently turn around the game.

An example:
The rookie get's 4 sanction cards, plays them every third turn to slow down the vet. The vet plays his first card on turn 6, his second on turn 9. Thus both players are on full income again on turn 13...

I'm very interested in playing this type of game. I'm very new, so my opponent should play his card on turn 10.

My rookie seems to have decided to fight to the last man, literally. :) I was going to play the sanction card on turn 4, but I waited until turn 5 since my opponent forgot to play it until turn 2. In hindsight, I suppose turn 5 was a little early, but it's hard to know in advance.

My game against Sunny Rain just wrapped up, I had planned on using my sanctions card after turn 5, but ended up not using it since I felt like it was a relatively fair battle income wise the way it was. So far I am 2 for 2 without using sanctions :)
