It's not nearly as bad if A: you host the game (meaning you can control the settings, rules, and give you more power over who's PE and who's not) and B: you play with people you know.
Are you talking about RT diplos, or MD? I'm gonna guess real time, considering how you've only played one multi day game.
Well, let me tell you, if you're looking to have an enjoyable experience, a RT diplo is not what you want to play. That's where all the bored preteens who think they know what they're talking about go. If you want to play a good diplo, you have to commit to MD. MD diplos are less chaotic, more organized, last a lot longer, and are all in all more enjoyable in almost every way. Sure, there are still some crybabies, but not nearly as many as RT has.
If you want a good diplo, join one with prerequisites that prevent commonly booted players from joining, low level players from joining, etcetera, etcetera. Seeing as how you're only level 11, the second one wouldn't matter for a while.
Once you get to a high enough level that you have all the settings unlocked that you need to make a good diplo, host one of your own. Seriously. Hosting, 90% of the time, is much better than joining.
The more you play, the more it'll grow on you. Get yourself involved with the diplomacy community, play games with us, and you won't ever want to stop.
If you have the time and are willing to commit to MD, you might want to check this out
https://www.warlight.net/Forum/223975-diplomacy-createnation-projectWork on getting your boot rate lower and your level higher, and better games which you would not see otherwise will open up to you. Better games = better players. Better players = better game. Better players + better game = more fun.
