I think the only thing more overplayed then 3v3 europe is 1v1 M.earth...

Maybe someone should balance the Europe map with a M.Europe so that fizzer can use it for a ladder

Perrin, there is no more balanced map than 3vs3 random warlords Europe...

Well, i'd be happy to see one, but the last tournament I layed with that setup showed me how little luck was involved in the strategy and it's execution.

Med. earth is very good, east asia and oceania is also a contender, but amongst popular maps and settings, that one seems to take the cake.

Of course one might argue that symmetric maps (like triangles etc.) are more balanced, but what I mean is they let players show their skill and are relatively "luckproof".

The problem trying to measure skill and map balance is that there are many different kinds of skills.

Picking the best territories is a skill.

Countering the best picks is a skill.

Even though symmetrical maps and fair maps might help figure out who is better when it comes to tactics, it does nothing to determine who is better at other skills.

9/10 games that a veteran will play against a rookie are over at territory selection in a Ladder 1v1 setting.

If that isn't your idea of skill, then yeah, triangles or something would be preferable. If skill means many different things (and it does for most of us), then measuring it is really hard.
