I played a few turns in a multi day game, then left to do some other stuff cause I do have a life away from my computer... I get back to a nudge from another player telling me to hurry up.. if they wanted a quick game, why didn't they play a real time one?

Yeah, it's a common streamline now, especially concerning tournament games. Feel free to play when you want and when you can anyway. Too bad some players don't get the difference, if it bothers you can even blacklist some and open your own multi-day 1v1s to let them aside.

I see people all the time, when one person hasn't gone in about 5 minutes, "Go" or "hurry up" and things like that. And I was playing a game with 24 people, and 1 person left about 15 minutes after the game started.

I think personally, that Fizzer should default the search of open games to showing RT only, purely because of the influx of kong users, which primarily want to finish a game in one sitting...
presuming it isn't already.. I don't rememeber what it starts as, so..

Don't generalize kongregate players, please. :)

I joined here, cause of the game at kongregate. But I love the multi day games here. :)

Generally when someone links to another game to play, they generally want to play *now* and having them start a game just to be delayed in the early phase might turn them off and we lose what might otherwise end up being a great player

Yeah not all kong people have no patience - and I think it does automatically show multi-day games, so maybe real-time games should be the default. I find this too - multiday games are good because you can be playing several at once, its like frozen synapse in a lot of ways (simultanious turns played over a long period of time).

I am tempted to start compiling a list of people like this so we don't have to deal with them in games we make.

Indeed, please do not put all Kongregate players into one basket. I came from Kongregate, and while I enjoy a real time game on my free time, I mostly enjoy multi-day. Simply because in real time I got no (nomen omen!) time to discuss strategy with team-mates properly ;).

I don't think the problem is that big. OK, I met guys that write 'hurry up' on multi-day games involving 10 people (when apparently some just joined and went to do whatever they need before to come and take the turn in the evening), but it's not THAT common. I think what is more common, is people just stopping to take turns, when they don't 'like' the game, instead of surrendering. Or joining a game and surrendering on territory claiming/1st turn.

I've seen a rash of people signing up for the 1v1 multi-day auto game, but never even picking territories. I'll be booting two more in a couple of hours, in fact. I've probably gotten five wins this way in the last week, but I'd much rather play the games.

I can understand not playing right away, but to not come back within two days? Did they forget they signed up at all, or did they expect a real time game and get confused?

Since it's only been recently that this happened, I am thinking it was new players from Kong who thought it was real time games.

Multi-day games are meant to be played real-time in the first hour of the game, until someone has to leave or something, and then just take 2 turns a day, like the description says.

Agreed with Harmenator.

Just started playing multiplayer and the first three games all had people disappear for 2+ days on the first or second turn. The hell is the point?!

And just when is the nudge acceptable? If it shouldn't be used, why is it an option? Personally I have used it but only after a dozen hours of inactivity which seems reasonable.

I have no problem with people taking as long as they need on their turn, but I will nudge people to make sure that they don't miss their turn. If this offends anyone I'm sorry but I'm going to keep doing it.
