According to Juq, it was permanent (you can check how long a ban will last by checking the person's profile on the mobile app; something the main website could really use, why is it only on mobile?)
Thx Zeph. I wonder how old he is. Seems like the kind of impulsive thing a teen or younger might do. Hopefully the situation will be a life lesson, rather than the beginning of a pattern of behaviour.
To put it simply: He coulda just tried to help fix the problem (by downvoting noise) rather than try to fuck with people to get *them* to fix the problem.
hey, remember when DEATH created tons of alts to get coins from (and steal from fizzer?) And how he played it off all cool as if he didnt care that he was banned for life. Then all of a sudden Fizzer says DEATH promised not to do it again and he got his account back?
or when lolitwerp got google to remove ads from warlight (and fizzer's primary income,) by posting pervy chinese cartoon porn? Fizzer didnt nuke him from orbit, and that kid still floats around here.
@Stewie: First, your post has a good signal-to-noise ratio, which is a separate matter from whether someone agrees or disagrees with it. Therefore, if someone dv's your comment, they would be doing so wrongly, IMO, according to the purpose Fizzer stated for the voting system.
Second, the voting threshold for comments is way too high right now anyway, so even if a bunch of people dv'd your comment, it still wouldn't get hidden. :-D
Third, just in case, I upvoted your comment as a precaution. I'm not sure whether I agree or disagree; but that's irrelevant. People can't have a proper discussion if they vote based on whether they agree or disagree: that would just lead to voting wars. It has to be based on whether the comment is constructive as opposed to trolling. People can disagree and still have a constructive conversation. That's how it should work, anyway, IMHO. (And I've seen forums that work this way, and it does work.)
Hmm. I tend to think that there needs to be at least *some* period of suspension, but probably not permanent. If it's an immediate un-ban, there's no deterrence factor.
Why should he not be permabanned? I don't really see an argument beside "he is a good guy and usually not a troll". XD
He spammed the forums with an alt and got busted. Sure anonym is worse but that's not the point. Just don't post your shit on warlight's forums and you don't get banned.
