I hope you aren't serious if you think Karl is Squiggles :p

i enjoyed him. lol. hes the best part of OT forums
I've never hated him, it's fun to annoy him. Plus, his posts can now be hidden (and most of them are).
Agree a lot here. He's annoying, and plagiarises maps, but map plagiarism shouldn't stop you from liking someone, and his personality is toxic in the funny way. He's very easy to meme, like Tabby or Karl, except he is dumber than Karl (and thus argues his point less effectively), and less pretentious than Tabby. Of that holy trinity, he's probably the best.

However the suspension is worthy, I think. He launched one of his "full scale spam attacks" on the forum, and...

And then subsequently launching spam attacks from alternate accounts against people that he took offense to.
So yeah, I think the suspension is justified for this. I'll be awaiting his return though, because, as Squiggles says it himself,

I am a tranquil guy.

What makes you think I tried to rationally argue with Squiggles, may I ask?

Also I'm not atheist but agnostic.

I was referring to his pseudonym as Squiggles, not to him as a person.

1.What is the best objective source on political Islam? I do not want Islamic apologetics or anti-Islam propaganda.

the "best" "objective" source of Islam(both political and as a whole) is Qur'an, it's the only unquestioned thing between Muslims.

2.Is Islam in decline among young people? I know it is in Iran, not sure about other places.

that's a hard question to answer, let's say what's in decline is the "moderate" Islam; most of the moderates are either going full extremist and bomb stuff or go full atheist/agnostic/deist/whatever.

I think I haven't been clear enough about the "unquestionable" word; there is no abrogations in Qur'an. Everything there is unquestionable. You either believe/follow them all or you are an apostate/infidel.

and what's the point of chronology, when everything written there is unquestionably true?

yes mostly Hanafi

Naskh(aka Tafsir) doesn't actually mean contradicting parts on Qur'an, but rather contradictions that happen after translating Qur'an to other languages; Arabic translation is one heck of a pain to translate to other languages, if you know Arabic then you'd understand.

again, there's no contradicting stuff in Qur'an. Everything there is unquestionable, or you are a non-believer.

I hope you see a pattern?

exactly and that's why Tafsirs exist; they are just the translations of the "meaning" of Surahs; so in the end it's the same original message, although words are changed a lot.

congratulations, you now understand Islam. here's a hijab as a reward.

it is clear...mostly, but a lot of people sticks with it.

I mean, would you prefer reading a mostly right English translated Qur'an that you can understand or a completely right original Arabic Qur'an that you can literally not understand even a single word?

that's also what Imams are for; they know enough Arabic to translate Qur'an correctly and make sure the population gets it right...or that's what they are supposed to do at least.

In Azerbaijan, there's a saying: "culturally but not religiously Muslim". In short, this isn't happening in the good inlightened countries like Azerbaijan and Middle Asia and Turkey (you know better than me likely, but isn't Turkey one of the Muslim countries that bans veils in public schools?) with long tradition of laïcité:)

Hijab is free for like 10 years and I know some schools have started allowing veils, so it's definitely a detoriating law.
