kCan't keep track of them all anymore
it seems like most of warlight are part of a clan these days and most of them are my friends
and all clan members of course play only with others in there clan in team games meaning that some of my friends i will likly never team up with again...

and no you can't get me to join a clan...

but seriously i never see the point to them and i just like to be solo

solo forever

k thanks for reading

what if everyone joined your solo clan. Like made a [Kurtis] Clan. Then you'd have a bunch of followers, would you join then?

what's the point of having clans in this game anyway. And I don't see any active clans doing stuff as a clan.

I was thinking of making a two man clan called [Team P]... but I really see clans as mostly pointless in most games.. it just gives people a sense of belonging or some such.. I like who I play with, and I play with them, including many clan members, so haven't noticed any relevant difference..

the only useful difference I can see for a clan, is to have the people that you know aren't douches with a visible tag on them.. and this could be solved with the uservoice notes suggestion without the need for inviting everyone to a centralized clan..

I was asked to join WM but don't see any benefit in normal games. In tournaments it makes it easier to scroll for a quality teammate. It's nice to pair up with someone you haven't played with but know they'll play well and communicate.

Is this really the most pressing WL problem?

Anyway, the clans are all good with me other than those FBG jokers. Truly the rogues' gallery of Warlight.

fsdds - perhaps I was not clear. I apologize if my statement confused you. I don't really see any benefit for a clan in regular games. But since joining WM I have started playing in a LOT more tournaments. You of course recognize certain players as being worthy teammates even without the tag. But only if you've played with them before. I'm currently teamed up with another WM member and we've made it past the first 3 or so rounds and are waiting for the next opponent. He's an excellent partner and I had never played with him before that. It removes any of the gamble for me. I see WM next to the name and I know they're a competent player who knows how to play and will communicate.

Since those are the keys to advancing in team tournaments it makes it much easier. Because it is much easier I am now more likely to join more tournaments.

my problem I see.. is i am unlikely to know everyone in any clan that has recruitment.. and just because a member believes they are good for whatever reason, does not necessarily mean I will agree with that belief.. even if I was in a clan, I couldn't blindly put faith in others with the same tag.. the main usefulness Imho is that those that I do have prior knowledge of are in a relatively small area on my invite list, or on tournament lists, so it makes it easier to find out if they are there or not..

Everyone can add "WM", "FBG", "REGL" or whatever to their name and nobody can force them to change it back.

I think the clans are interesting for those who want it, Dr. Awesome quite nailed it on why they are. On the other hand, I don't see there are real disadvantages except maybe in FFA where people of clans may work together. However, this is no different from other people who play(ed) often together.

If they exile themselves from everyone else that's their doing.

I don't want to be part of any clans either.

Clans give you a set of guaranteed games with people you trust and games that son't be dragged out or played unfairly. They also ad a sub-community of players who enjoy playing with each other. I enjoy having my clan, and I don't think that it's alienated me from anyone in the larger community, only strengthened my relationship with those inside my faction. There are other tiny advantages too, such as everyone in my clan is ok with swearing, so we don't have to watch what we say around each other like we do when we're playing with others.

As to Mathwolf's last point, that's true, and that bothers me. We should have a clan system in place to help this. Perhaps the clan tag could have a color to it if you're officially in the clan, and we could have some sort of clan page with a chat system in it for communication and such. There could also be ways to directly challenge another clan to "clan-matches". These differences would give another dimension to Warlight, making clans, and those of us who enjoy them, more proficient and fun, while not negatively effecting those who do not wish to be in a clan. In my opinion, there are no downsides to clans, only advantages.

I would also like to say that REGL (I cannot speak for other clans) do not use the fact that we are a clan to our advantage in terms of unfair play in FFA games. In fact, we enjoy beating each other for bragging rights and will often attack a clan-member before a non-clan-member for that reason.

it would be more important if there was one member in a non-member team sabotaging his own team because their opponents were fellow members. but thats more likely to happen with players who are friends with each other but arent in a clan.

clan battles myriad? when i used to play more console video games, clan battle for games like halo or rainbow six where fun. There were rankings and such to them, and playoffs a couple times a year.

But, there was more infrastructure in place for those games (major league gaming), and I'm not really sure if there is a system here, or enough clans to even support rankings and such.
