A novel idea to add to Warlight is Naval warfare this will require a few things.Firstly there will be a new type of territory Sea Tiles This our the only territory's that ships can move on. if you control the sea tile you can move armies through them like any territory you control. they fight like armies. if you destroy the ships or take a sea tile the army's die. This are produced the same way as armies and you can make them with your income for instance you have 100 income and you spend 50 to make 50 ships you can only make 50 armies. also you can only make ships if you have a territory that borders a sea tile
I agree with Buns. The game doesn't need to be more complicated. Not that we wouldn't be able to handle it, but it just wouldn't be as fun. Eventually it would get to the point where it becomes a FPS game and you have to shoot your way through the map. No. Just no. Clever idea, boats and whatnot, and I must say I like it. But no.
I see no benefit of this. It's basically the same thing we already have on some maps that have boat territories.
This wouldn't be more realistic than that, it'd be less realistic than that. Your idea suggests you can't load ordinary soldiers onto a boat and take them overseas to make war, which is for obvious reasons completely and utterly wrong.
Terrible idea. A major aspect of Warlight's appeal and success is the fact that it boils down to a very simple game. All armies are equal as are all territories. Introducing rules specific to individual territories or armies overly complicates matters and takes away from the game.
Also, if you add in naval forces, why not then add in air forces? And if you add that in, why not mechanized infantry? Or trains? The list goes on and on.
