Hello everyone, my name is Orthrus Echo Five (most people call me OEF or Orth) and today I'm introducing a challenge like none seen ever before (or at least in recent memory).
The name of this challenge (as said in the title) is called the WarLight Music Creator Challenge (WLMCC for short). This challenge is pretty straightforward, and it's purpose is to improve the WarLight gamer's experience.
Flat.io is a music notation website that allows to create musical scores, collaborate with friends, and share your masterpieces with the whole world! No, this is not an advertising or sales pitch, the website is completely free! This is the website that we will be using for the challenge.
Now, WarLight currently only has one song that you may listen to (which seems to be muted by most of the community). I asked myself, "Why is that?" The answer seems quite clear: It's really your only option of music without going to another site, such as YouTube. Now, for those of you who sometimes play offline, or in single player mode (I know I have the Chrome Extension of this game, one that was taken off after I got it), it gets boring listening to looping music, but it also sucks to sit in silence. This challenge will hopefully give Fizzer enough reason to incorporate some sort of playlist system to the music of WarLight.
The challenge is this: Create a song for Fizzer to add to WarLight by July 31st. I figured you guys would want plenty of time to brainstorm and find something that is unique within yourself, and then translate that into music.
Make your creation public, and then send a link via email to orthrusechofive@gmail.com or calebfrush@gmail.com. After the July 31st deadline, I will judge all musical compositions, and the top five pieces will be presented to Fizzer to look at. If he approves of them, then we'll now have new stuff to listen to!
You will be emailed back with a score out of 100, along with a detailed report on what I think of your piece. I will have a scoring system in place, but it won't be anything like a rubric, and you won't have a copy to use. Your creativity is what ultimately gets you success. Anyone who is participating, please say so in thread, and I will look forward to seeing what you have in store!
Thank you, Orthrus
