Mainly folk just not wanting to work. It's made out to be more than it is. Folk signed work contracts, then didn't feel like working anymore. Anyhow, Qatar is more than half immigrants - those are just migrants, most are only working there temporarily.

Their watch is right now very authoritarian, they gaoled many folk for speaking against the government, and there's the Indonesian immigrants. Your money would still be going to fund military strength far away in Afghanistan.

I do agree that they are both awful candidates. I'm not sure why you would need to follow it up with a "I'm voting for this one because..."

Are they awful candidates or not? If so, why would you vote for either one? If more people voted 3rd party, maybe we could eventually force the major parties to give us candidates that we like.

Having said that, I have noticed that the US has a remarkable ability to survive awful presidents, so it's not going to be the end of the world no matter which one gets in.

》 Name one nation in history that has improved due to mass immigration of people with different culture

The Roman Empire.

India. Mass immigration of Central Asians and Iranians hugely benefited them.

The Balkans. Ottoman Culture and heritage enriched and transformed the poverty and very undeveloped region of SE Europe. It all went South when the Ottomans retreated.

Alexander in Persia. Brought Greek culture to Persia.

Japanese Yamato brought Chinese culture to Japan (Kanji) and established the Japanese nation.

Canada and Australia would be backwater, poor nations depending on Britain if it weren't for immigrants from all over the world, and investment from them.

The Balkans went from below average at the time in the 1400s to being below average in the 1900s. The Ottomans weren't good to the region, at best they were like the homegrown despots.

uh yeah. 1900's. Well past the Ottoman peak and they were barely in the Balkans during the 1900s anyway, just about holding onto Greece. They were called the 'sick man of Europe' for most of the 1800's.

I bet 99% of cops and soldiers have done more good for this country than you ever have. It's so ironic how we've got people putting their lives on the line so that citizens in their homes will have the right to criticize their every breath and treat them like dirt. I'm so sick of these people who've never set foot on a battlefield, and probably never been shot at, thinking they're so high and mighty for spitting on law enforcement and demonizing them.

You got problems with the rules or how the country operates, than take it out on the politicians who give the orders. You actually have the freedom to do that in this nation, not that you have any appreciation for those who keep said freedom in place.

The military and police don't fight for my rights. They're not fighting for my rights when they're fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, or stationed in Europe or Japan. No one would invade America and oppress me, regardless of them being there. They're supporting the government that takes away my rights at that.

Now, the police, they are the direct enforcers of the will of politicians. They do this voluntarily, so they don't have an excuse when they kidnap someone for a victimless crime, or shoot a kid for a toy gun in his hands. They're not protecting me either, I don't think I've ever actually needed the police, and I doubt I would need the police if they weren't there altogether.

And you can blame the politicians too, and be against their helpers who volunteer willingly too. You know darn well I am against certain politicians *cough cough* off Obama like they offed Gadaffi *cough cough*.

I can't tell if you're being naive or just haven't thought that through. You honestly think that if we disbanded our military and police everything would get better? That's pure insanity. Without government we'd have a power vacuum. What would fill said vacuum? Street gangs, mafia, terrorists. That's best case scenario and only works if you generously assume that the rest of the world's countries would just idly sit by why the U.S plunges itself into anarchy.

They do this voluntarily, so they don't have an excuse when they kidnap someone for a victimless crime, or shoot a kid for a toy gun in his hands.

That's an extreme minority of cases. Most cops have never done anything like that, and it's certainly not justification for abandoning the whole enterprise.

I support the concept of watch, but not of army. Half of it today (on the bigger team, of course) is just dropping bombs and airstrikes, footsoldiers are rarer. These folk, they sign up to kill folk. They may have been psychologically misguided and messed up, and so are serial killers. Why should they be dealt with any differently from serial killers, though, since they essentially do the same (those signed up for battle roles, anyway).

The watch, on the other hand, takes killing folk usually (and officially) as a last resort, and usually to save lives.
