Semi, this literally started over 6 months ago, in September... (Just before I went into Hosptital in fact, so I got booted from my main event game!)

I'll probably start the next one after this, so you'll be able to jump into it :)

I could use some suggestions for a template though, something well known and relatively quick would be best :)

And yeah, it filled up in less than 24 hours :P

Eh what? I dare assume that whenever it was is fine, since you are back :D {?}

Also, this was not the added pressure I needed when considering a critical turn in my game with Peixoto. Oh, well I will have to procrastinate my turn until tomorrow.

the bug with miniman has happened in torneys before.

1 st round both players are auto booted. Both players gets a loss (and are sent to redemption) + one of then are awarded the win, as the tourney needs a winner.
MinMan now has 1 loss. Are present in redemption and standard tourney.
Gets booted 2nd game in normal bracket.
Now has 2 losses, and have 2 spots in redemption.
The 1st redemption game has 3 players, since 2 players lost then 1st round in the same game. Minman gets booted here too, along with the other player booted in 1st round.
3 loss, 1 game left.
Gets booted in his 2nd redemption game.
4 losses.

Think this has been reported to FIzzer before, through not 100% sure. ALso don't know if it is fixed.

In this tourney, to add additional confusion there are 2 players named MiniMan. The 2nd one has 3 losses.

The 2nd miniman.
Lost 1st game.
In redemption both players booted (and awarded a loss,) both(!) players also advanced in the road.
Losses 2nd game redemption.
Has 3 losses.

Oh, but did you create a UserVoice so everyone could vote on whether or not we wanted broken stuff to be fixed?

Also, can we increase the boot time next year? I heard that some player(s) had a hard time keeping up with the tournament with 3 day boots. We wouldn't want the true world champion to be excluded by a mere time constraing, now would we? I think 10 days should be good.

I was thinking 100 days actually, that really would make it a Championship for only true Warlighters.

(As a lot of players often fail miserably when it comes to spotting sarcasm in Warlight forums, I'm going to go ahead and point out that this is a joke, you're welcome)

There is some discussion in the tournament about the naming of "True Champion" as some people don't feel it differs enough from "Warlight World Champion"

Could people post here about better ideas they might have for the names?

I need one for winning the whole tournament, including the Road to Redemption, and one for the winner of the Single elimination part. The winner of:
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=10891831

I went with "True" champion because at that point they would be the only player to have never lost a game, true in the sense they are the last person standing undefeated. Everyone else is on the road to Redemption, except for them.

And the winner of the whole tournament I figured would be the Warlight World Champion, as that's the name of the tournament (I realised after perhaps I should have named the tournament Championship + Redemption or something, but never mind)

Anyway, my thoughts were to name the winner of the main event (Single elimination side) as the Warlight World Champion and have the winner of the whole event the "Come back Kid" or something, but in the situation where the winner of the single, beats the player from the Road twice, the winner of the tournament will actually be undefeated, and never have touched redemption at all. So it wouldn't make sense, hence why I named them in the order I did. Remember it's possible to win both medals! :)

There is a medal for most wins too "True Grafter", as it's possible to get more game wins than anyone else but not actually win the tournament, and I feel they deserve a medal for that too :)

TL;DR: If you have to go through the Road of Redemption to win the tournament, can you really call yourself a true champion?

Why should there be titles for anyone else than the winner? It's double eöimination so the winner is the guy who didn't lose more than 1 game on the tournament.

If you really need to give the winner of the single elimination a "trophy", it's nothing else than the single elimination winner

And, I also need suggestions for the 2016 Championship (else I will just pick something, maybe LD Turkey, I hear that mentioned a lot...)

Ok, so "Single Elimination winner" ?

I kinda see that as the description more than the trophy name, can't you think of something more snazzy?

Edit: Also I prefer to call them "Medals" not "Trophies" so they don't get confused with the official Warlight trophies. These would be more like achievements, but again, Warlight uses those too, so I went with "Medals"

Edit2: The reason I wanted to add "titles for anyone else than the winner" is that it's such a large event I wanted to give some kind of "prizes" to players to make it more fun and interesting, I think a straight tournament would be kinda boring for something so community based. There's already 3 coin prizes, so I figured 3 medals would also be nice :)

The format is Double Elimination so I assume the overall tournament winner will hold the Warlight World Championship (WWC) title. "True champion" should logically be whoever holds the aforementioned title, so imo, this is not a good name.

The winner of the Single Elimination bracket is either going to be the same WWC winner, or the WWC runner up. If being the runner up is not good enough and the people feel they deserve a Championship title for winning the Single Elimination bracket, that sounds like a People's Champion; not the true WWC champion, but still a champion in the eyes of the people.

I see, though I'm not sure "People's champion" maybe makes much sense...? That would normally entail the idea of popularity, which perhaps may not be true :P

and it may be that the True Champion is runner up, he may also be the winner of the tournament though. The idea is that if it wasn't for the road to redemption, if it was just single elimination, he would be the True Champion. But with the Road added on, the winner of that vs the True champion decides the World Champion.

I dunno, maybe it's silly, I could just take the medals out, I just wanted to add something in to make it a bit more fun, if people don't like it I will drop it.

I think it's probably best to keep it as double elim though, to give everyone a good chance at the title, and I could do with a nice template for the next one :)

Quite a few people in the tournament chat have also said it would be better not to have the medals at all, shall I just remove them? They were just supposed to be a bit of fun to promote discussion, but it seems that people think they detract from it?

If you have any comments on this tournament or ideas for the next tournament (The 2016 Warlight World Championship) then please post them below! I would like some suggestions for a template too, it has to be true skill, else I cannot make it an open tournament with a prize.

Instead to spend your money to create such a huge tournament, you can simple be the (main) sponsor of a real Warlight Championship (series) without any limiting factor!

I mean, I am sure that the community can construct a professional Warlight Championship system (so not only a simple tourney) and if the prize pool will be high enough, all the best players likely will join and play.
And at the end, you can give the prizes to open coin games with 1-3 placed players and surrender them (still support Fizzer by the rake).

That would be a real Warlight Championship imo (without any settings and format limitations)

I'm not really sure what you mean.

This tourney only cost like, $30 or something, that's not going to be enough to sponser some huge additional code...?

I'm modeling this tournament on the "Snooker World Championship" as it's a knockout tournament for individuals. Or I suppose it's also like any Tennis Championship, if you are familiar with those.

Not sure this helps with your question, but I'm not entirely sure what your trying to suggest, sorry...
