Again I am not for the abolishment of the police so your arguments against not being in favor of more blue shirts does not work. If the police are 30 minutes away and your gun is 3 minutes away at most, I'm certain the gun is the better choice, especially if the police are likely to hurt you too.
who would arrest drug dealers
Why would we arrest drug dealers? If folk want to get high on stuff, the government has no place telling them not to.
If police pledge to enforce the constitution, proceed to break it on a regular basis, stand with their colleagues who have done horrible and immoral things and also pledge to uphold laws that are often very bad, how are they not all douchebags?
Saying that we should keep a police to create jobs is a bit of a shitty argument, gvt shouldn't create jobs just for the sake of creating jobs, that's wasting money.
However, the police should be supported yes. The fact that some police officers abuse their power shouldn't be generalized. The only institution to be blamed is the judiciary that doesn't punish those infractions commited by the police. Also, you give have too much faith in people; arming everyone in the country might seem apealing, and maybe there's gonna be less people invading your homes, (or maybe not?) but it's probably not the best longterm solution to criminality, as it has other consequences.
Plus, a violent police is a problem in the US and in many other countries, but don't generalize it to the world. In France there's a police officer facing criminal charges and years of emprisonement because he punched a protester last week. Don't blame the job, blame the country.
Ah, so if I embezzle money, who's going to arrest and detain me while I await trial? Some guy with a gun? What gives him the authority to hold me at gunpoint over somebody else? Wont he want a reward for his deed? Now he needs pay and a job. Oh look, that makes him a cop.
Before you start saying "who will arrest the person for doing the the thing!?!?!?1" read what I've put down. I'm not for abolishing police , but for restricting their power. These arguments are the most idiotic ones because they don't actually argue against my point.
Teamguns, I blame the police because they're guilty of misusing their power and doing wrong. And the point of not supporting the police is also not supporting politicians who want to give them more power.
I'll start supporting the police when they do right, until then they can beat me black and blue but they cannot coerce me into supporting them.
I'm saying that I want to restrict the power of the police. Some mentally deficient blokes started crying about how if we restricted the police criminals would be able to attack us more and I argued against that separately.
What already exists is that police can do anything they want and they can be guilt free as long as they say they thought it was the law. That is a completely awful thing that must be overturned.
Furthermore, we should take all of the police's tanks and armored personnel carriers away, and take all of their advanced riot control gear away (you don't need a effing sound cannon to control a damn riot).
Yeah I can. Anyone who is a cop is a bad person because they enforce incredibly immoral laws and support other police who commit awful acts. Your friend is no better than a thug. Doesn't mean he hasn't done good things or is a good person at times, being a thug still makes you a bad person.
