They're both just trying to get elected by lying on who they are, where they stand and what they believe.

Who was this even trying to convince? Those for LGBT will obviously vote Democrat no matter what, and those against will lose some faith in Trump.

Trump could behead a kid with ebola in Time's Square and his current voters would love it. He is going to draw from Democrats.

It's worth noting that throughout the primary season Trump has generally performed worse in closed primaries (Only GOP members can vote), and better in open primaries.

This seems to suggest that he's either getting support from other political groups or unregistered people who don't usually vote have been flocking to him. Maybe a bit of both.

I don't like Trump, but I have to admit that he has displayed an impressive ability to draw votes from outside the usual Republican voter pool.

Even a basic demographic understanding of Trumps' voters, they're basically old, stereotypic dumb hicks, not really the kind of folk who would be registered. I see little of that ability to draw votes from outside the usual pool, he's just for more extreme versions of what the other Republicans are, for most issues, especially the two he talks about. Foreign policy? Yeah, grow military spending, bomb everywhere. Immigration policy? We're not letting Muslims in. We're building a wall between America and Mexico, and Mexico will pay for it.

He does have many voters that were formerly Reagan Democrats. These consist of mainly working class white folks in their middle ages who've been hit hardest by the new economy. Most of these voters are in the Rust Belt.

Also Kellen is right to say that Trump's views on abortion and LGBT are pretty much the same...in any case he's way to the left of true conservatives on social issues.

Actually a lot of Sanders supporters might defect to Trump; also supposing that they would vote over Hillary is a misconcept, there's a growing ammount of his supporters that would prefer not voting at all.

GOP foundings: majority support Trump, last I checked (60% or so votes on the eliminary elections went to him). I don't know about journalists, but I'm suspecting you're just fully making this up, all this supposed anti-Trump bias. And progressive authoritarians? There really aren't, it's almost an oxymoron. And together, yes, these groups definitely makes an absolute majority.
